Right, seeing as I single handedly killed the cooking comp by suggesting a hearty breakfast at the height of a hot summer, here it is again now it's gone cooler!

So, we can all cook up a breakfast.

Whether it's a greasy fry up or burning the Cornflakes, to the healthy strawberry and muesli stuff.
This is a chance to show your version of Sunday morning's finest offering.
Presentation will be the key to this one, watch out for the anaemic bacon, hard eggs or any other ingredient that will cause disdain for the PHarazzi!
How can we do this one to make it different and stand out?
That my friends ... is the challenge!

THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ARE AS FOLLOWS.
Only one entry per person, cooked within the competition time frame.
No more than three photos to be entered with a description of your dish which must be prepared and cooked by the entrant.
The competition will run until Sunday 20th October.
The poll will commence on Monday 21st October and voting will last till midnight on Sunday 27th.

OK here's my effort. Just back off holiday so detoxing for a while and we can't eat the chicken's eggs at the moment due to one of them having had antibiotics, so this comp has come at the worst possible time for me.

So time to get inventive with - "The Fruity Fry Up" - strawberry 'bacon', yoghurt and peach 'fried egg' and blueberry and granola 'black pudding' smile

I'm up for this, I see the presentation side is the thing that will swing it; interesting.

Good luck all

PS wife is a supermodel who likes having food served off her naked body. No pressure though....

It's called fruit leather - Google for "fruit leather" or "fruit roll-ups" recipe. Basically involves boiling your fruit of choice, straining it, spreading it on a baking sheet and baking it low and slow (as in 50-90 degrees for 5-12 hours) until it dries out. It goes all tacky and chewy, a bit like strawberry laces you had as a kid. Lush! That was experiment v1 - v2 I'm doing to try and make the slices thicker, and maybe try and make bacon rind using apple.

That's brilliant. I'm nicking that fruit bacon and eggs as a surprise Christmas Dinner starter! Except I'm going to do orange jelly beans in a coulis to look like baked beans and some brioche or pancake toast too.

....if you don't mind, that is!!

Isn't it next weekend? How long do you need to cook breakfast ?

I've got my idea. It will have more calories than that very nice example made out of tofu and carrots it has to be said. Whether it is more photogenic I am not sure. That is a high bench mark.

I guess we will have to leave it up to the originator to decide

There's only the two (good) entries, so hopefully it can be done.
