I tried to do this and had an awesome idea but failed in sourcing any venison so had to bail on it.

With pancake day looming it'd be cool to set a challenge that had to incorporate pancakes, sweet or savoury. Just an idea.

neet idea bobbo actually.

Surely most of us can cook a pancake. Apart from my misses that is! It was like eating an old boot. But she wouldn't take any advise or help from me.

Well I guess game is not flavour of the month.
Call some one a winner and put it out of its misery and let's get a new one on the go.
I'm looking forward to entering me first compo.

Well volunteered that man. Off you go!
I'm down with that.

Let's see what the new lad can come up with.

I suggest we start it as of the 1st of March running till the last sunday of that month.

Mashedpotatoes if you don't fancy formatting a new thread PM me over a theme between now and Friday and I'll get it up.

Right you are. I will have a look through some of the last few cooking compo threads tonight in a vague attempt to not replicate anything to recent.
And will report back tomorrow.

Right then...

I got an email from Mr.Mashedpotatoes last night (assuming your male) and I believe they have come up with quite a good theme and one that has not been done before that should get people involved as I reckon most people on here would eat it.

I also like the pancake idea as it is pancake day on Tuesday....

So... I suggest that we open 2 cooking comps!!! crazy I no with the lack of entries at the moment... But if were to kick start the comps again what better way.

I will take it upon myself to be player/manager and start the comps. One for pancake day that will last till next Sunday and one theme'd that will run till the end of March.

All agree say Aye?

That sounds like a good idea. Hopefully I'll find my culinary mojo - it's been absent for months frown

I think I'll have a bash at the pancakes one as I'll likely be having a go at making them anyway. Both my cooking and my photography are hopeless but why not have a go anyway laugh

Wish I'd seen this a couple of days ago, just finished off the last of my slow-cooked reindeer stew! That qualifies as game, I think - not here perhaps, but certainly in Finland.

Made with diced turnips, whole shallots, left-over cranberry jelly from Christmas, lovely.

As one of the only two posters that could be bothered to post an entry in the 'Game on' comp - I hope you get more entries for your new comps with subjects that have more appeal to 'Urban England'.

I'm not hacked off - but you do have insensibilities to Matt that devised the game cooking comp and TeeRev and I that made the effort to compete. A bit of imagination on your part and there could have been various rugby/football suppers!

eta even table tennis, golf suppers etc...

I am truly gutted for mat I thought his comp was a good one. Sadly picky eaters in my house declined my offer of a game dinner.
I thought teerev's second dinner looked fantastic and in my view deserved a win.
Moving on I'm planning a savoury pancake feast this weekend and then some fine westcountry oggies soon after.
Long live the ph cooking comp.
