Will definitely try these at some point. Epic!
My home made burger recipie is a bit out there. 500g mince. Grate 1 large best root (fresh or the ones in the plastic - I always use the ones in plastic tbh) and about 1/4 jar of horseradish sauce (subject to taste!). Mix, patty up and cook. The colour is a little unusal, and first time round it can be hard to tell when they're cooked, but they are epic!

OP, I hate you! I saw this thread a couple of days ago and though I'd get around to making them this evening.
Oh my god... Possibly the best burger I've ever had, now I see these becoming a regular fixture!
You owe my family 5% of the funeral costs! biggrin
thumbup thanks for the epic recipe!

Haha, I'm making them again myself tonight I think, I've got Casino recorded, sly beer and a sizeable burger should sort me out for midweek!

I'm wondering what a bit of relish in there with the bacon and cheese would be like. It's nice when warmed up in a cheese toasty ...

Made 7 and used them last night when we invited friends round for a BBQ. Went down a treat!

I've made stuffed burgers before now, wrapped in bacon. Delicious, only I didn't get a good enough 'seal' on the outside, and my cheese leaked. frown

Thought I'd have a bash at these over the weekend as well....

All the ingredients ready to go, I had to change a few bits due to what I had in the cupboard but the basis is still the same.

Patties made, bacon (and onions) fried off, cheese grated and burger inner parcels taking shape.
Be careful to seal them well around the edges otherwise the middle will ooze out in the pan.

Same as original recipe, got the pan good and hot before adding the burgers....

The finished product... slightly different to above as one of us doesn't like cheese, 2 don't like onion and none like our buns toasted!

They were very very nice however and will be made again for sure!

I've gone for a sligtly different twist. I cut the bacon into tiny pieces and and mix it into the mince that gives in an even bacon taste through the burger smile

Been making something similar since my uni days, but with haggis inside, bacon on top and in a proper crusty bun. It's a proper manwich! No idea why I never thought to put the bacon inside. You've inspired me to revive my burger making days biggrin

Had a go yesterday..... Bog standard cheapo mince, no egg but added grated onion to the mix and chopped chillis to the filling.

Cooked on the BBQ came out very well. Enjoyed a lot.

Just tried these, fantastic, best burger I've had in a long time so cheers OP!

We added gherkins, few jalapeños and hellmans ketchup - if you haven't tried yet it's by far the best ketchup!

We had an issue with the patties splitting, thought we had pinched them enough but obviously not, the wife managed to expertly rescue them though while I had a melt down thinking we'd cocked them up.

Top Friday night tea!

Made these tonight.

Missus made home made bread buns and I did the burgers - 20% fat beef mince, half an onion, one egg yolk, some fish sauce, some worcester sauce and finally plenty of pepper and a little cayenne in the mix. Used strong cheddar for the cheese.

Used my griddle to start them then chucked them in the oven for a bit to melt the cheese on top.

Missus at one and I ate two. I now feel sick, but they came out pretty well!
