My girlfriend is a keen cook and an avid watcher of MasterChef. Last night she was criticising the contestants during the "Mystery Box" round so I suggested our very own mystery box challenge. I'm now looking for suggestions for two mystery boxes, one savoury, one sweet. Ideally I'd like to allow a couple of different potential 'routes' for each box... the only restrictions are that the ingredients need to be readily available in the local supermarket and no shellfish (or I'll die horribly). Has anyone got any suggestions?

I'd get her to choose sweet or savoury before buying the boxes.

She's so confident she's going to do a main course and dessert!

Sneak into her house and remove ALL the paper wrappers from all of her tinned produce. That'll make for some ''fusion food' in the future. She'll thank you for that stunt when she's eating Prunes and Baked beans.
