Next. What coffee beans

Bit sticky and oily when the come out, I expect, such that if one was foolish enough to drop them, all sorts of things might adhere?
tbh they all went over the kitchen surface and as the cleaner had just been there was nothing to stick to them. Only about 5 beans went on the floor, quite lucky really!transferred into one of those dry storage upright tupperware things. They seem designed to take 1Kg of beans perfectly. However, are they the best way to store beans? Bags tend to have that little moisture valve don't they? Tupperwares completely seal.
As a side note I wonder how long it's going to take me as the only coffee drinker in the house to power through all those beans. Hmm.

We should have some kind of coffee bean swapping thing on here. Everyone posts up what they have to swap and we can send each other 50g of beans? While back a relative got me some taster packs from some shop in London, probably 25g each or so.
Wish I took note of the shop as one of them was very special however the price when I checked was going to work out at about £60 per kilo so that was the end of that, I think it was called Hawaiian extra fancy.
Tried some from another well known roaster which was much cheaper however it was not in the same league.
Probably would try some of their tasters if I could find out what the shop was called.

I would suggest looking at all the popular London roasters such as Union, HasBean, Square Mile etc. Union produce a great coffee which is known as Rogue throughout the Taylor Street Barista outlets. It's lovely in all coffee forms and also tasty from a french press.
Don't forget that the closer you are to the roasting date, the fresher the bean is and if you're using it after a month, the taste will become very bitter.

+1 even my beyond fussy FiL likes the coffee i get from hereI use Pact Coffee. £6.95 a bag, and I get mine fortnightly. No minimum term (unlike others) and full flexibility around starting and stopping your subscription.
I'm currently on some Sidamo beans that have a really delicate flavour a bit like a tea. Very good in a drip filter but acceptable in cafetiere, Aeropress and stovetop.
I've got a referral code that gets your first bag for a quid - drop me a message if you want it.

I'm all about helping a fellow PHer out but those beans have a roasting date of over a month ago, is that right?
The following is taken directly from their websiteFresh Roasted coffee
We individually craft roast our speciality coffees to highlight their best properties, i.e. sweetness, body and acidity. We do this five days a week, which means we are able to provide a genuine fresh roasted coffee experience. Though for coffee to taste it's best, you should allow your coffee beans to rest for at least a week after roasting. Preferably, two weeks post roast for peak flavour. After four weeks the quality will begin to fade.
Roasted to order pretty much
