The IPA is great, but Torpedo is better still. American beer....who'd have thought it?
American hops are the best in the world. Give me a beer brewed with a US hop beginning with the letter C over some boring, weak, basically hopless crap off the shelf stuff any day of the week.

Christ almighty, they do a Xmas version?!? That'll pack some voltage, won't it??
Same ABV (10%) but with added "Christmassiness" but not as good as the ABT 12 you posted earlier. Still highly recommended though.

I have a crate of Pressure Drop Bosko waiting under the Christmas tree for me. Had it at a restaurant earlier in the year and it was bloody lovely.

Reading this thread has got me thinking, the UK has had a resurgence in brewing, there are some brilliant beers that cater for all tastes. I think we all owe a debt of gratitude to CAMERA, cheers....

The resurgence happened a while ago now wink

I'm actually getting a bit miffed with it all tbh. It's become a bit to much the trendy thing, and as a result it's wall to bloody wall pale ales in too many places. I was in a specialist beer shop locally the other week and there were several new local breweries with stock in. All were pale ales.

The trendiness seems to have killed off the seasonality in beer choice. If anything, I find myself more reliant on the big breweries to fulfil that aspect, which is a bit disappointing given the boom in craft breweries.

Christ on a bike - 12%?!

Honestly I can't really stomach many beers over 6%, they just get me in all sorts of trouble!!

They are meant to be savoured an enjoyed rather than a "session" beer. I'm a bit of a lightweight but my normal go to beer is an 11% Straffe Hendrick. (I tend to have 2 or 3 bottles and finish off with a vodka.) If I'm on a night out then a decent quality beer/lager of around 5% is enough.

I have a 14% and a 15% to try in the fridge biggrin

Exactly this!! Couple of these over a couple of hours, good book, bit of music on, good company, ideal!

A few of my current favourites.

Harviestoun - Bitter & twisted golden ale, Schiehallion lager (very very nice)
Williams Bros - Caesar Augustus lager/IPA hybrid
Oakham ales - Citra (Single hop, very hoppy citrus tones) probably an aquired taste but i damn love the stuff.
Andwells - gold muddler

Black Sheep's Imperial Russian slips down beautifully at this time of the year or any other come to that. Dark, velvety, smooth and there's a Christmas Special too - I just hope that's what's in the large cardboard box that arrived from them last week...
