Hi usually I brew my own and prefer keg beer, due to my own laziness and the weather I won't have any ready for 4-5 weeks. So looking for some bottled stuff to enjoy. I like ales not a big fan of light summer ales, when out I'll drink Purity UBU, Doombar, London pride etc but these don't seem to suit bottles.

So the other day I had a bottle or two Goffs Jouster, very nice too, seemed to suit a bottle. So what should I try, for convenience sake I would like to use Waitrose (they don't stock Goffs)

Looking forward to supping some of your favorites. beer

At the moment, I am very keen on this.

I know you said you are not keen on "summer" ales but give this a try on a warm evening. Maybe chill it ever so slightly.

Anything from this lot if you can get it. If you can't I'm happy to buy a couple a drop them off when I'm up in Stratford in a few weeks time.

And here lies the issue....

I love ALL OF Fullars beers, and am doing the factory tiur in September - but I think Wild river is the worst beer theyve ever made.

Try anything by Tring Brewery or Hobgoblin would be my recommendation.

This thread will get very long as seasoned ale drinkers suggest their favourite tipple.

I don't usually post in this section but Dark Island by the Orkney brewery is my favourite tipple, lovelly stuff. It's starting to get stocked a few places as well but not everywhere.

You may be disappointed if you only get Badger - its not a brewery that works for me for sure. Id go for a wider selection.

I'd like to browse but always get so confused, I find bottle beers don't taste like their keg counterparts.

Oh you've gone and done it now, it'll only be small detours from normal errands. If I get the taste for it I'll have to give up homebrew.
