I can't eat pizza - I'm allergic to garlic, and it's in all the sauces.

I hate you pizza eaters.
You can make your own though smile

Have a fantastic pizza oven on my patio but am yet to fire it up for pizza. That's next on my list but, to be honest, 2 - 3 hours to get the thing properly going is a bit much effort for a couple of pizzas that cook in 2 - 3 minutes.

I will report back when the deed has been done (but don't hold yer breath!).

You're not properly obsessed until you've bought one of these...

Sounds like the perfect food for a vegetarian: plenty of carbs and fat; and low protein. Isn't that the perfect diet to achieve that doughy veggie physique? wink

yes Any spare flour can be rubbed onto the skin to make the look more authentic.

If you are a pizza lover get yourself to a costco and order a large pepperoni which is freshly cooked in their onsite kitchen while you wait.

The biggest darn pizza you've ever seen for about £8. Honestly its like a bike wheel.

Im a fat bloke but could only manage 4 slices.

Ignore the grease and you'll be fine smile

as the title says, it is now becoming an obsession and it has to be good pizza - not dominoes- frozen etc...
cannot get enough of it, had 2 this week and looking to do another at the weekend
i am also a vegetarian so i thought this love for pizza may be because of this but there is so much other good food about, i am thinking of a pizza detox, even thinking about this makes me shudder

Subscribe to the Dirty Takeaway thread for inspiration - to either eat more or to put you off completely.

Remember, it doesn't have to be a pizza base, you can build on any suitable foundation, this includes woven mats of straw or whatever it is vegetarians eat.

When Pizzas cook so quickly and nicely in the BBQ, why wouldn't you eat pizza three, four or five times a week? This guy is fine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...

I don't understand where the high price comes from for pizza, it has to be one of the highest mark ups in the food industry?
Totally agree. A large Dominoes with a stuffed crust is £17!!!! Even a small one is £8. Where in the name of the wee man do they arrive at that.
Is yours not Half price if you order over the counter and wait for it to be made?....even then it's hell of a mark-up.
A few months ago I caught a bit of OZ Undercover boss, it was about Dominos and each shop they visited had a large pizza for $7.99, about £4.50!

Expensive, but only in this country!
If you try it in the motherland (Italy) a good pizza ranges from 4 to no more than 12€!
Such a good thing i just got back from holidays at home! cooltongue out
I still have yet to taste a Pizza like the one's I had in Naples. Even Roman ones are not as good.

I guess I never will unless I go back to Naples.

Pizza & Calzone. Yum.

Also the dominos mark-up is huge. Large pizzas cost less than £4 to make.

I make mine from scratch. I make the dough & the sauce & top it with whatever I fancy. They are lush & I refine the process with each one. This week, I'm messing about with 00 flour, adding oregano & olive oil to the dough & leaving it to prove in the sun which is speeding it up by a factor of four! I think I'm done with store bought pizzas.

Have you tried making sourdough bases yet? That was a revelation for me!
