Apparently, according to everyone in Northern Ireland, no crisp sandwich compares to a Tayto Cheese and Onion sandwich.

Try suggesting otherwise.

Northern Ireland Tayto is not a patch on ROI Tayto! I'd put ROI Tayto first, then Kings Crisps, then Northern Ireland Tayto last.

ROI Tayto (the original and the best) cheese and onion flavoured crisps in Brennans bread (or Pat the Baker's bread at a push) with kerrygold butter and Chef sauce - brown or red - I'm not fussy. Serve with a can of Club Orange - bliss!

Kettle chips, maple bacon flavor, 2 slices of cheap white bread, spread of your choice. Bosh!

Cheap loaf
Butter
Salt and vinegar

The ONLY permittable crisp sandwich has to be properly council. Anything else is just trying to make it something it's not.

Where do you buy your Brannigan's from?

They're the greatest crisps ever, but I haven't seen them in ages frown

There is a small shop within Liverpool St station, down towards the entrance to the central line. I must admit they are tough to get hold of so was happy when I found my supply!!

I'll send you some biggrin

I wonder how many people are either having a crisp sandwich as a snack tonight now, or tomorrow for lunch as a result of this thread? I'm going to do both biggrin

Crisps are there to supplement a sandwich that already has a filling, not to be the only filling.

I'll go with this, except the bread has to be fresh, soft and white, regardless of the cost.

That's before I even get started on the concept of putting sauce on it.

Indeed there is little better than using a fine packet of crisps as an essential condiment with one's choice of tasty, bread encased snack.

I'd go with a soft white roll, loaded with decent cheddar and thinly sliced ham. A little pickle for moistness. To accompany: Salt and Black Pepper Kettle chips.

That'll keep you going up the side of a hill!

Yes, but it has to be the st processed square kind. Using a proper bakers plait would be an insult to the bread...

If the crisps are to be used as a condiment, smoosh a pack of salt and vinegar crisps onto a tuna mayo sandwich. Delightful!

I purchased a 6 pack of "Golden Wonder" prawn cocktail crisps today. Now that's a real crisp (I HATE all this slow cooked organic sea salted kiln roasted rubbish).

I'm sure they would be excellent with cheap white bread, a block of rubber cheddar and lots of mayonnaise.
