Bread: Any will do although a plain white baguette works best.
Butter: Lots.

I tend to add crisps to a sandwich primarily to add crunch.

A sarnie with chicken, sweetcorn and mayo for example is quite a smooth, mushy experience, it's much enhanced by our thin potato friends.

Soft white bread, sliced mature cheddar, plain crisps (pref. kettle chips or similar), primula cheese spread. The whole thing crushed mightily such that a handprint is left on the sandwich. Excellent.

Fresh soft white bread with some spread to help stick it all together.
A multipack bag of Walkers Salt & Vinegar.
Tip the whole bag onto the bread, crush it down and close the sandwich.

It is one of the pinnacles of existence.

I say use Walkers crisps but I am finding that Saisburys own brand ready salted are nicer that Walkers ready salted so I should really try their S&V too as they may be better.

I call ready salted crisps plain crisps. Am I alone on this?

White sliced bread with Walkers cheese and onion.

Or as an alternative, ham sandwich with a layer of Walkers salt and vinegar crisps.

I'm quite hungry now.

Aldi's soft white bloomer bread, thick spread Tesco's Welsh/English butter, Mclellands strong vintage cheddar cheese, sliced thin, corned beef half moon pasty (hot) and the best crisps ever to finish it off - Brannigans Beef and Mustard.
Immense and satisfying after a gutful of Kronenbourgbeer...

It's nice in subway to add the crisps in the meal deal to the sarnie, I prefer cheese and onion on Turkey breast for some reason.

I just had a salt and vinegar (squares) sandwich (white bloomer bread) with HP sauce. Yes!

Also, I remeber that I used to have cream cheese with ready salted hula hoops. You must make sure the hoops are on their sides so that they crush, otherwise they are extraordinarly resistant!

We have such a fine and wide variety of crips in this country it makes me proud. When I go abroad it's like being in a crisp desert.

Lord knows what visitors to this country think when faced with whole aisles of the things.....

Anyhow, I'm addicted to the re-launched Salt and Shakes, can't get enough.

Walkers Pulled Pork and BBQ sauce my new favourite. Their Steak Fajita are quite nice too but the rest (e.g. cheesey beans on toast) are meh.
