I got some locally after holidaying in Germany and the hotel having a full frame of the stuff every morning for breakfast.

The flavour seems to vary wildly depending on the plants local to the hives.

A few years ago in France at a stall on the side of the road, I was able to taste over 50 different honeys all produced by the same chap. He just put hives near different fields. Some honeys were really pale, others were nearly as dark as treacle
