Which animals should we eat ?

I've heard the same, but I've also eaten crocodile which is an amazing meat and said to be very healthy - also you could argue free range chickens are omnivores and most fish are carnivores. From what I understand from a health point of view about the worst thing you can eat is Lamb, then Pork then Beef - three animals selectively bread for century's to produce the most amount of meet and fat possible - no wonder we have cholesterol problems these days - "odd meats" like Croc, Ostrich and such are much lower in fat and much higher in protein.
Personally I'll try most things once, I've had horse quite willingly, but I bloody hate horses so I didn't have any moral issues - I wouldn't eat dog, not just because they're cute but, when the Koreans eat it, it's an especially cruel process. I wouldn't eat cats of any size.
I don't mind a but of rabbit or game bird, but Tesco isn't exactly over-flowing with either.

I think we eat most of the "normal" native ones, with the strange exception of horse and obviously other non-native or endangered species. There are others that are simply not widely available, ostrich, crocodile etc.
Would venture that the primary reason we don't eat "all" animals is that most of the remainder are carnivores and from what I've read, dont taste very nice.

Enjoy eating your meat (fnarr) while it lasts, insects are coming, fried, boiled, sauteed with a twitht of lemon. The multi-nationals are already a long way down the development line.
If they taste nice or can be made to why not. We're having Quorn slag Bol tonight I've no idea what a Quorn is but in a spaghetti Bol it tastes fine. Quorn tastes quite nice. Best not to google it, though.

Well, you know 'meatballs'? You'll soon be able to buy them but instead of being made from mince, they're made from Mealworms BoRED S2upid said:

Quorn is made from a protein which is derived from a species of fungus (the protein is produced in a fermentation process).Don said:

Hence the concerns about eating large predatory fish - mercury bioaccumulation in tuna and ciguatera poisoning in large tropical predatory fish. A large proportion of the fish we do eat are mostly or exclusively predatory, though. And of course we feed fishmeal to livestock...Hoofy said:

Just about anything that the Chinese think makes your knob bigger is usually pretty rank.
So you tried them all, then? Assuming you're talking about sea cucumbers and abalone, I don't think they taste bad, you just wouldn't think they're anywhere near as expensive as they really are.

Foxes and pieogen? Would probably taste awful
Wouldn't eat either. The dirty sky rats that live in my town, seem to live on discarded burgers, kebabs, pizzas, chips and the like.
Wood pigeon is a great source of protein though. To avoid dental disasters, chew gingerly at first.
Occasionally, a tiny pellet of lead shot may be buried in the meat.

Any that we want to. Life is a fight for survival, and we get eaten in turn.
Is it?...do we?
I agree all animals should be fair cop, although personally I'm going off the idea of meat and trying to reduce my intake. Just hope I don't become a preachy vegan for the rest of my days.
I ate raw horse meat in Japan last year. Quite it was too!
I genenrally don't have a problem with where the meat came from, although I can't face octopus or squid anymore. I think it stems from eating the pickled baby squid that someone brought into the office a couple of years ago.
It was bloody awful.
