Bovril.
I love Bovril when it's cold and wet (must be a Midlands thing) but have you seen the bloody price of a jar????
Bovril, bit of salt and pepper and an oxo cube in a flask.

Makes cold days and long drives bearable!

Just go to the tea section of your local supermarket and try some out. Remember that the fruity sounding ones will smell great but disappoint much so ignore them.

The 'flavour' is sprayed on. Once that's evaporated, what's left tastes like wet hay.

Thanks for the suggestions. One that I normally drink at home not at work is Milo.

Its a bit like ovaltine but even better.

You probably wouldn't want to drink too many of them, but OXO Veg stock cube is a very nice alternative hot drink.

Don't waste your money on Brovil, just throw an oxo cube into the cup with some boiling water.

A dash of Tabasco is a nice touch too

Personally, I have one full cube.

I suppose you could add 1/2 a cube, 3/4 of a cube etc depending on your preference for the strength and/or to lower the amount of Salt you would be consuming.

From memory I think one cube contains 20% RDA of Salt so for that reason alone you wouldn't want to be drinking too many of them on a daily basis but you'll get away with 1 or 2 now & then and they're a nice change instead of Tea/Coffee.
