Wine Clubs any good ones ?
Discussion
We are talking about wine clubs aren't we rather than just who people order from??
If so here you go, the best about in my book. http://www.bbr.com/wine-club

Great... come on then... recommend me some of your favourites. Gonna make a pre xmas order soon.
Thanks
Rich
This is just a general Christmassy / NY recommendation, but have a look at Nyetimber Sparkling Wines from WS. It's expensive English "Champagne". Had a few bottles from a customer last year which knocked my socks off. Thanks
Rich

Not a wine club - but I live about 3 miles from Nyetimber vineyard and have to say their sparkling wine is fantastic. https://www.thewinesociety.com/shop/productdetail....

You can buy cheaper but something very nice about drinking wine made from grapes grown a few fields away.
Kicked Naked wines into touch - they seem to think the more they write and hype the better the wine gets. Generally was always disappointed with the price/quality.
Virgin wines has delivered some excellent wine instead - £8 a bottle for some fabulous 'Finca Manzanos' Rioja at the moment,. It truly is a great value at £8 and makes supermarket Campo Viejo crianza look like old socks!
I think Naked ar full of BS if I am brutally honest with you. I left them twice and they keep chucking £40 at you (suggests overpriced...) but let the last £40 one go as it just wasn't up to scratch.

I do hope it lives up to expectations.
I've never actually been to their "shop", despite living a few miles away. Any good ?
The Nyetimber was fantastic. I prefered it to "proper" champagne which i usually find a bit too dry an 'achk'I've never actually been to their "shop", despite living a few miles away. Any good ?
Great recommendation... will be getting some more. :-)
Good to hear your experience rich83.
Mine:
Aperitif.
Pol Roger NV - less fizzy than I recall. Quite yellow. Very rich and full for a bubbly.
Gratien 2002 - lighter and fizzier. Very biscuity. 6 out of 7 family members preferred it.
Turkey.
Fort de Latour Pauillac 1999 & 2001 - 1999 fruitier, 2001 deeper. Didn't quite go with the turkey. The more glugs you took between food mouthfuls the better it got. Must remember that next year and have something else.
Another dinner
Fort de Latour Pauillac 2000 - somewhere between the two above. Had with red deer steak from Pershore market. A good match. Fascinating to have all three within such a short space. The joys of en Winesoc en primeur. Can't afford them now!
Back to the budget stripper for the rest of the year
regards,
Jet
