Can you put in frozen fruit and blitz that in the NutriBullet?
You can indeed - I buy loads of bananas, peel them, freeze them and then throw these in halved with various other frozen and fresh bits and bobs, makes a nice cool smooth drink.

My only issue is that I can't seem to resist using the large "cup" all to myself which probably means I'm having far more than I should.

I was sceptical when my wife introduced it to the house but it's been handy for making soup, pesto etc too and has a fairly small worktop footprint.

Can someone comment on the alternatives? The £20 & the £25 one.
As i don't want to spend £85 on a blender i'll only use once! wink

For 25 quid I can't fault the Breville one. Didn't know about the 20 quid Murphy Richards one though.

So, any further opinion on these things, seriously contemplating buying one - mostly for the fact that it seems to be really easy to clean after use.

Reviews all seem very positive too which seems good.

Much the same story here, had one for ages, use it regularly and it's been grand.

I have the amazon knock off Amazing bullet for £15 delivered on a group on deal. I bought it to see if I was going to use it after using my FiL Nutribullet. I have to say the nutribullet does a slightly better job of smoothing the last 5% of a drink but for making drinks there really isn't that much difference.

The motor doesn't like being run for longer than a minute, starts to smell a touch but most drinks are done much quicker than that.

Get the one you can afford and you should be alright. I wouldn't replace my cheapy one with a expensive one having used both. I would save the cash and just replace it when it goes pop.

The FiL's nutribullet does look better and feel better made though.

Exactly. The Nutribullet is a simple blender which charges £80 over the top for being fashionable.

I fancied one but not at that price so I bought this.

It's basically the same thing but not as trendy. I use it daily, fantastic thing.

I managed to get a second hand one and I have to say it's fantastic. I use it daily for my breakfast smoothie which usually consists of spinach, banana, frozen berries, a few tablespoons of rolled oats and whatever other bits of fruit I've got knocking around. Pineapple and mango are good to throw in as is kiwi.

One thing i did find out is that avocado is horrible in a green smoothie.

I watched a few NutriBullet vs NutriNinja comparison vids and they were all close but the Ninja won every one I saw.

I think with blenders it's pretty simple - as long as the blades are decent, the more powerful the better.

From memory, the standard NutriBullet is 700w and the standard NutriNinja is 1000w.

People suggesting it's a gimmick and you are paying for a fad - this is not necessarily true. These are powerful blenders.

Can you find a cheaper 900w blender anywhere? Not saying there aren't any, but I'd be surprised to see blenders this powerful for £30. Most of the alternatives are 300-400w and are nowhere near as powerful.

How much power do you need to blend fruit, veg, and a few ice cubes. We're not liquidising granite here. My £20 cheapy does the job and the results are no different. I've used a Nutribullit and it's great. If it were £80 cheaper I would have bought one.

I bought my wife one for Christmas but it developed a fault. Unfortunately in the intervening period we'd met up with some friends....one of whom's wife is an uber beard about these things and had a Vitamix https://www.vitamix.co.uk/shop/G-Series

My wife's Nutribullet went back for a refund and we now have a Vitamix sitting in the kitchen! Ouch that was expensive. No friggin idea how it does it but you can make soup in it....actually heats things up. Comes with a 7 year warranty so it must be good.....

They all do that to be honest (heat things up). If I don't pulse my ninja, and just do a big long blast it can actually burn the smoothie!

£500 for a blender! and peeps on here having a go because the Nutribullet is £90.

Bought a Nutribullet three weeks ago and it's excellent- could get 5 of them for the price of a Vitamix

I am reliably informed that it does a "much better job" than the Nutribullet. All I know is that it's getting used every day. That's what is most important!
