Nothing too peaty. This is the only criteria. Xmas present for an uncle, not spending more than £40 on him.

For reference, he likes his 18yo Glenmorangie which is fairly rounded and a slight smokey taste.

In an idea world it would be on offer in Tesco/Morrisons/Asda/Sainsbury's etc.

Cheers.

My local waitrose has this. It's not dissimilar to his usual tipple.

Jura Origin is a good shout if you want something quite light, or Jura Superstition if you want a a little bit of peaty-ness. Both should be available from Tesco / Asda Sainsburys well within budget. Origin is £25 in Tesco at the moment.

I like the Origin, one of my favourites.

My absolute favourite is 21yo Auchentoshan but bit over budget to be buying for my uncle's Xmas present. We shared some last Christmas and he loved it so anything similar to that would be good.

£25 a bit under budget. He'll know what I've spent laugh

Shame about not being near a Waitrose, as they have a Glenmorangie Nectar D' Or that sounds like it would be right up your uncle's street. It's a 12yo that's been finished in Sauternes casks, comes in at £37 and it's bloody lovely.

(Jura Origin and Glenmorangie are my tipples of choice for reference)

Nearest Waitrose is 16 miles away actually, didn't realise a new one had opened.

The Tullibardine looks interesting, might pop over to Sainsbury's and pick up one of them.

Thanks.

To close off the thread, I picked this up this evening.

Looks interesting.

It's my birthday today and my uncle got me this;

So I know my budget was about right! About to have a quick glass to verdict shortly.
