Made a mug of Nescafe Gold this morning as I was in a rush, only drank 1/4 of it. Tastes like crap compared to proper coffee.

I love the OP's enthusiasm and home set up, and I'd love to have something similar.

However, I just can't be bothered when at home! Maybe when the kids are older and I wake up refreshed rather than tired I'll get into it.

But for now, 2 spoonfuls of instant is as luxurious as I get at home!!!

Haha, it all depends what you like in life? I wouldn't even touch instant coffee, I also try and avoid at all cost the likes of Costa, Starbucks and Nero etc. I wouldn't say is that much to make a coffee at home maybe 2-3 minutes, but the whole experience in making coffee is enjoyable for me. It's more then just adding hot water. To get a decent espresso shot is actually quite a skill!

This post was aimed more at enthusiastic people about coffee not instant and pod machines!

It takes me three minutes to make two flat whites in the morning, while the kids are having breakfast, using a Rocket machine like the one posted earlier and a Rancilio grinder .

Hey, I'm sure it was!

Apologies if I've dragged it down into the gutter with me!

I found a great Roaster in Guildford. Just before Xmas, I ran out of beans and was looking for a roaster that I could collect a kilo from in a hurry. They opened for me to collect, and I have become a "customer for life"

www.redber.co.uk

Very friendly!
Figured I'd give a local firm a try as my Hasbean subscription had expired, and ordered Redber's starter pack. 5 small packs of different beans all intended to be fairly different to each other. Only tried 3 so far, 2 of them nice and one bloody lovely so impressed so far.

Do they actually have a shop on site or do they just let you collect stuff you've bought online?

They don't have a shop, per se, but they did allow me to collect and tour after I phoned them up.

Really great people and coffee...
