They're quite nice, five different flavours although my nearest lidl only had two on the shelf.
Keep them in the foil wraps, the pod is plastic not aluminium so the coffee goes off if unwrapped...
That was the kicker for me on 3rd party pods.Keep them in the foil wraps, the pod is plastic not aluminium so the coffee goes off if unwrapped...
The Carte Noire espresso ones are a lot better tasting than a lot of the Nespresso ones IMO, but there is no easy way to store them next to the machine without having a tatty box on show, rather than a rack of Nespresso ones.
Got home last night and it appears we have been given the wrong capsules, the wife asked for decaf, we were given normal and we have been charged for normal.
I have fired off an e-mail to customer services, so lets see if they live up to their legendary customer service status.

Well it appears that their customer service is pretty bloody good:
"Good morning HTP99,
Thank you for contacting the Nespresso Club regarding your recent visit to the Regent Street Boutique.
I do apologise that the Coffee Specialist who served you inadvertently placed Vivalto Lungo in your bag, instead of the requested Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato. Please be advised that this has been fed back to the Boutique for the internal redress and to ensure that situation such as these will not be repeated.
Normally, I would have included two replacement sleeves in with your next order as we are unable to dispatch less than 50 capsules. However as this was our mistake, and your wife is unable to drink caffeinated Grands Crus, I was keen to ensure you would not be without until your next order. With this in mind, I have dispatched 50 Vivalto Lungo Decaffeinato capsules to the below address which you can expect to receive within the next 2-3 working days."

Went to the Nespresso "Boutique" in London yesterday, I got my free coffee had a wander around; what a load of pretentious bks just for coffee......but I loved it!
I tend to use the one in Selfridges, as it's only 2 minutes from the office.Always get offered a free coffee and they're always polite and friendly.
Perhaps it is a bit pretentious, but then given the crap service you get in most places these days, it's actually quite refreshing to be appreciated as a customer.

On a minor tangent, if you ever get asked to join the Nespresso panel - do it.
Typically I get a survey about once a month asking for views on coffee, limited editions and advertising. It's usually a 5 minute thing and quite interesting to give feedback. For example, one survey last year asked about decaf versions of the Grand Crus - and the pod design you'd prefer to see.

Clearly. However if cheap coffee was the primary value driver then we'd be drinking Tesco's Value instant...
The Nespresso offering is significantly cheaper than the Carte D'Or option, is far better quality (no stty powdered milk for lattes), and has a much better infrastructure and service level.
Mum bought me a sleeve of the 'Monsoon Malabar' ltd edition. 30p a cup, tastes bloody lovely, and came with an interesting little booklet that's going in my nice folder that loves next to the machine.
Pretentious as fk, but I'm more than happy...
