Mum bought me a sleeve of the 'Monsoon Malabar' ltd edition. 30p a cup, tastes bloody lovely, and came with an interesting little booklet that's going in my nice folder that loves next to the machine.
I'll be popping into Piccadilly Circus on my way home. Cheers for that.

I´m delighted the Lidl nespresso capsules have made it to the UK.

We bulk buy them here in DE when they are on special at €1.49 for 10.

I also have the white refillable caps from ebay, these are really sensitive to the size of the grinds used, Lavazza Crema e Gusto always works however and at €2.99 for 250g I can make a nespresso shot for €0.07 (approx 5g in each refill, yes I weighed it, what a saddo.)

I might have a try with one of those, cheers!

I'm a little torn here. I absolutely love Nespresso coffee, and can't really see how a difference of 20p per cup would affect my life. Am I missing the point of these refillable pods?

I'm with you.

However I guess for the more money conscious, 20p x 5 cups a day is £365 a year so you can see how it adds up.

The best one they ever did was Hawaii Kona. Was £1 a pop, but so worth it. They did another - maragogype - which was bloody good too.

I have no issue paying for service, as long as I get the service commensurate to what I've paid.
I've still got 4 maragogypes left from Christmas. For some reason I only drink them on a special day.

Im late to the Nespresso party!

Just bought my first machine after using Gaggia's for the last ten years, have to say I'm loving it! It's so easy to use and the coffee is very good.

I have given up on the Nes range of pods, current favourite is Carte Noire number 9.

I originally bought the expensive milk brother but since a fag to fill and clean, I have adapted to expresso, just carefully choosing the blend.

I do love the range of Nes double walled aluminium thimbles - perfect for an expresso

They are a bit of a faff, I must admit, and seem to produce a better result when the Lavazza vacuum pack has been freshly opened. The end result is still perfectly serviceable.

I put the money saved in my Warsteiner fund. Compared to Nespresso capsules (not that I ever buy them anyway) I'm saving €4/week, man maths at work, so that's a free crate of outstanding lager every 3 weeks.

The maths doesn't work as well for the Lidl pods so I don't work it that way, like I say, man maths.

Here's a picture of a long espresso shot with L C&G coffee in one of the white pods above. Tastes better than it looks.

Anyone got any funky pod holders/storage? I find the 4 channel Nespresso tower thing I've got pretty annnoying - pods tend to want to spill out the bottom of it.

I have something similar to:

in the cupboard above the machine. Mine has 8 channels and is attached with 4 patches of double-sided tape. Works brilliantly and was about £10-15 from eBay / Amazon / similar.

That's pretty cool actually. I did find this one from Youcopia which looks pretty good but it does take up cupboard real estate unlike yours.... hmmm.

Love the way that, that is photographed with a non Nespresso machine.

I like the target holder; looks cool but it's £45.

I have a Krups rotating stand thing; it has 4 sides to it, I actually like my capsules to be on show.

I love the target one too - although I'd much prefer it half the price and half the diameter...

I've got the 'Totem' one, which is crap. Came free with the 250 capsule intro set. Also have the 'cube', which came with my mum's 150 intro pack. She's got the perspex one that's shaped like a pod - quite nice but the flat section to keep it upright is too narrow, so if you nudge it it rolls around spilling pods everywhere...

I also like my pods on display, but I want one that looks decent, and is easy to pick the capsule you want (colourblind and some of the pods look identical to me when jumbled up!).

£16.49 - other suppliers available, I'm sure.
