My fav was the ristretto which tasted pretty good and I am pretty fussy about my cuppa, only thing I found was the shots were a bit cold for my liking.
If the machine is "cold" then running an empty shot through before using a pod makes a big difference to the temperature of the coffee, as does warming the cup with hot water.

The machine in the Hotel was a GEMINI CS 200 PRO which in my opinion is not appropriate for heavy duty usage because the machine could not really reach its required temperature because of the amount of people queing to use it, so heating a cup was out of question unless one wanted to annoy the people queing even more.
Other main problem is it is not plumbed in so one of the stuff was all the time filling the water reservoir.
I can see the machine being a success in an office but not for Hotel use.

Agreed - they are meant for the home kitchen. The small water tank means it needs filling up every 5-6 times.

Have heard a lot of people complain about temperature but I think it comes out perfect. I do a long shot of water which heats the machine and the cup at once, then do the drink.

One of my favourites too along with Roma if I feel like something a little less strong.

Never had an issue with tempeprature. Double walled shot glasses keep it nice and hot too.

Having picked up a machine just before christmas I'm new to the whole Nespresso thing. I popped into a Lidl the other week to sample their offerings and they are easily on a par taste wise with the Nespresso flavours. And half the price.

As for making the coffees, I mostly whip up a latte in my aeroccino and drop in a long shot on top. lick

I love my Nespresso machine - i think i've had it for almost 5 years now and it's still going very strong.

Interesting about adding the hot water first for the americano - i was told to make an espresso and then eject the pod and top up the hot water with the lungo button which is working for me.

I've also added an aeroccino milk frother too - only thing is that when i add semi skimmed milk to the maximum level indicated then it always overflows annoyingly.

Yes I've found this, glad it's not just me. I've found the perfect level now - fill so that the top bobble of the spinning whizamijig is just submerged.

Actually that's what i tend to do also - although this is near to the minimum fill level which is odd.

Also - has anyone else found that if you use skimmed milk you get a much frothier outcome (fnarr fnarr) vs semi skimmed?

If they run dry or are left a while they get an air lock. The instructions I got say to switch it on with the "hatch" open, as you do this push the hatch back and it bleeds the machine. HTH

That's the one I have, although I won't mention how much I paid for it on Black Friday wink

Really impressed with it.

Got a Nespresso machine from the stepmum for my birthday yesterday, a Magimix Citiz & Milk, so far I'm loving it, I'm a black coffee and espresso man, however the wife loves a latte.

I have registered for the £75 coffee offer and am just waiting from my e-mail confirmation that I have the credit on my account.

Can someone please advise as to how many capsules you get in a "sleeve", there is a festive selection for just under £50, it has 15 "sleeves" but I can't find anything that tells me how many capsules in total?

Thanks

It's usually 10 IIRC.

Ok thanks so £50 for 150 or I can choose 200 for only another £16 and will also get free delivery; no brainer really and I think on your first order you also get a FOC container too.

People say how expensive Nespresso is and I guess it isn't cheap when compared to instant, however once the machine is bought and in my case it was a present, then 33p for a bloody good cup of coffee is bloody good value, 2 a day and 200 capsules will last me 3 months.

just one thing, when I got my machine they also gave me £75 quid of vouchers, they have some kind of 200 capsule intro pack with a cool wooden box as a newbie offer, so was going to get that, of course the voucher wasn't going to be sent for 2 months, so I picked up a few capsule boxes from the local 'boutique' where they asked for my details. When the voucher came I tried to buy the intro box but found out I couldn't because I was no longer a newbie... mad

So for anyone getting the voucher offer and wanting the intro pack, if you buy any of the capsules, just make sure you don't enter your details or give them in the shop!

Espresso wise I now only bother with Dharkan and Kazaar which are 11 and 12 in strength, nothing else felt anywhere near decent enough. I ordered a box of their colombian one off, its horrific to my taste.

Kazaar is like drinking burnt mud.

Other flavours are better.
