Just to let people know - Taylors of Harrogate now do a range of Nespresso pods. Three expressos at strengths 8 (Kenyan), 9 (Columbian) and 10 (Brazilian). I've tried the Columbian and it is rather nice with characterful flavour, plus strength (I've normally found the non-Nespresso pods either weak or bland/uniform - or both).
I got from Tesco, but it's also meant to be available from Sainsbury and Waitrose. Down side - £2.99 per pack, so not that dissimilar to the price of the originals, so more a decent alternative as opposed to a cheaper one. (lets hope for some discounts).
I found these came out so bloody slow, I thought the machine was buggered because of hard water. I got from Tesco, but it's also meant to be available from Sainsbury and Waitrose. Just had a delivery of four hundred capsules - should last me a while!
Have realised the Pure Origin range are by far my favourites, so they make up the vast bulk. However, the Milano limited edition is rather tasty, if not my usually preferred style.
Just bought a few packs of Milano myself. Similar to my usual Roma favourite but different enough to notice. Probably keep buying them until they are withdrawn. Any idea on how long they'll be offered for?Have realised the Pure Origin range are by far my favourites, so they make up the vast bulk. Anyone tried the Palermo yet ? - will probably be putting in an order in about 4 weeks time but I might be near by one of the stores tomorrow night.
Had a cup last night - didnt fully appreciate it as I was busy, but it seems very full bodied.Preferred the Milano I had so far.
Bought some Lidl pods (the espresso ones, rather than the lungo). They're not bad actually, like my usual Arpeggio but slightly milder. £1.99 for 10 pods.
Wasn't expecting much after buying their instant coffee for work, made by the same brand (Bellarom), which I gave up on after 2 cups, but pleasantly surprised with their Nespresso pods.

But they were €2 a pack in Portugal.
Guys Ive been away and used a filter machine with local coffee (Nicola?)whilst in the villa, coming back to my Vilvalto Lunghos they seem a bit insipid.
Anyone suggest something that tastes a bit more filtery ?
My barista technique is long water, long coffee, short milk should I vary this ?

Help, I need some quick advice as I've seen a good price for a Krups Inissia. s there much practical difference between this & a Pixie? I can't really go much further up the range.
There is no difference other than cosmetics. The Inissa is cheaper and more plastic looking but the internals are the same.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
