Love mine, massive difference to instant coffee and dirt cheap when compared to a Starbucks or Costa.
Yep; same here, 30p a go; whats to complain about and the coffee is lovely, TBF Starbucks and Costa is pretty grim.

I don;t think anyone on here would claim Nespresso is the pinnacle of coffee, but in terms of a compromise between convenience, quality etc, they really are not bad at all.

I can't believe you lot are talking about techniques for making Nespresso coffee. It's all the same regardless of which machine or pod you buy. Crap. Nespresso is the biggest bunch of marketing aspirational lifestyle consumerism bullst I have ever seen. I have so much respect for Nestle and their marketing team who have hooked millions of people into this complete con thinking that it is really good coffee. Nearly everyone I know has a machine and insists on fking wax lyricaling me whenever I go to their house about how great their Nespresso coffee is and each time I have it, I think "disgusting" all the time I am drinking it. Someone even asked me the other day if I wanted an "Apple Crumble" coffee. WHAT THE fk?!

Exactly...

I don't buy into the Clooney marketing b/s, I tried a pod at a friends and decided it was in a different league to any instant and a lot less bother than grinding my own.

Get your butler to do it?

After he returns from Colombia having hand picked the best beans on your behalf of course.

Just sold my Gaggia Classic and burr grinder and replaced with a Nespresso. Just as good coffee without any of the hassle.

Arpeggio now comes in a decaf version. I tried one the other night in the shop and was really impressed. Much better than the weak rubbish decaf pod I've had before. I'd really struggle to tell any difference. I've bought a sleeve anyways for the odd night time cup. Would highly recommend.

I recently ordered 100 capsules from GroupOn. Caffeeluxe med roast however they where the older type capsule and don't fit my machine. I think Nespresso changed the design at the end of 2012. I got a full refund and a promise of some free "new" capsules from Caffeeluxe so no lose to me at all and great customer service from the importers.

However I have 90 capsules(took me 10 to realise they dont work) sat here doing nothing. If you have an older type machine and want them, PM me your address I'll send them to the first to PM me. I don't want anything for them but maybe stick a couple of quid in an animal charity collection box next time you see one.

I spent a lot of time looking at the Nespresso range last year. I do love my Aeropress and Porlex hand grinder but it takes me around 8 mins to make a coffee at work from start to finish. Might have to look into a Nespresso machine for work and leave the hand ground mugs for home use.

How you are making espresso with a cafetiere? Or a Cappuccino or Latte which need to be made with espresso?

Lol. No.

My point was simply that it is a cult of people who have been marketed to in the most fantastic way, and in a way in which I can only take my hat off to the person who devised the scheme. It's crap coffee and overpriced but if it works for people then that's fine by me.

You could apply your argument to almost every major branded product available. Jeans, trainers, coffee, Beats headphones.... Dare I say Apple?

It's not crap though - and that is why it has taken off the way it has.

It performs in taste tests. Peoples main gripe is that you are locked into the Nespresso pod coffee with a pod machine, very few dislike the coffee.

I like light roasts so I dislike the vast majority of the Nespresso range, but the Bukeela ka Ethiopia is delicious. I don't like their most popular selling pod (Apreggio).

Obviously it does not make the worlds best Espresso, but if you find one that suits your taste, a Nespresso espresso or latte is going to far exceed a Starbucks, Costa, Nero, McDonalds, Greggs etc

^ That.

As there are Michelin starred restaurants serving Nespresso I very much doubt it's 'crap coffee'.

But...but...but.. Mr Clooney's got one;)

I've got a Lattiissima + had it for about 3 years, love it other than it packed in a couple of times after a descale.

There was a Cuban limited addition at the end of last year that was amazing.
