A hell of a lot Euro-fizz so far, perhaps a certain demographic on here today?

In my book, if it needs chilling then the true flavour is to be masked before it's palatable.
Warm lager or white wine anyone?
Yes, a real ale duffer here. With none in. getmecoat

As far as cheap beers go, Holsten is the absolute best. Probably why I'm on my third already. By far and away one of my favourite beers to drink.
I'm afraid I have bad news for you. Holston Pils is just not the beer it was. Back in the late 70's/early 80's it was the only lager I would drink. Easily on a par (if not better) than many of todays "premium" expensive lagers.

Todays brew is akin to all too many well known things , including Cadbury's cream eggs, wagon wheels, and good customer service, a shadow (in some cases literally) of their former selves.

Here is tonight's entertainment:

Rum Finish and Dark Island are firm favourites, but I have never seen the Scotch Whisky one before today so I am looking forward to that smile

^ Great, now I need to go to Aldi and see if I can get some of the spiced rum finish stuff as I haven't tried that one yet!

The treacle porter is lovely, as is the cherrywood.

I tried the whisky porter stuff last night, very pleasant but I didn't get a whole lot of "whisky" coming through if I am honest. Very good though, and I would buy it again. I have another bottle for, um, testing, so maybe I will get a bit more from that one smile

I found it to be a sweeter version of the Original, wouldn't pick it given a choice but still a nice beer.

Dark Island is a firm favourite now, just seen that the Tesco down the road is selling it for £1.59 a bottle. Must resist the temptation to buy the entire shelf hehe

The Innes and Gunn rum finish is delightful.

Here's a selection from my fridge ranging from 11% to 15% so not really session beers!

It's lovely stuff considering most people think the Yanks can't make decent beer. The touble is finding it. I got some in York a while back at the House of Trembling Madness but they didn't have any in the last time I went.

I'm enjoying this at the moment, suitable for this website. Discovered it in my Beerbods (google it) tasting. Ordered a crate but that is now running out.
