You may prefer BK but there's no denying McDonalds is a better quality product.

Anyhow, I'll leave it at that as I'm not here to try and convert people.
You're clearly speaking guff as McDonald's is the inferior product in every sense, only the most feckless imbecile would think otherwise.

What do you get at McDonald's? Miserable, sugary sweet sauces and some limp veg on a dry, tasteless burger. At least Burger King can deliver on crisp, tasty fries and succulent, flavoursome beef. Their burgers are as good as you'll find on the high street without splashing considerably more cash, which just makes the inferiority of McDonald's even more damning.

Mind you, I wouldn't expect you to say what you really think and admit that Burger King has the better product as you work for the competition.

I have asked for and got a Big Tasty with Big Mac sauce many times.. it's much better than a std. Big Tasty.

But I prefer Burger King if only for the toms & onion.

But lets cut to the chase, they all pale into insignificance next to the glory of the "In n Out" burger which is only available on the left hand side of the America, but is well worth the plane fare...

(Byron Burger is good in the UK too, but not fast or cheap)

You work for BK don't you!

I work for neither but enjoy parts of both menus. In terms of hygiene and regulation I am left with a better feeling from the Golden Arches. A whopper is a delight every now and then, but there's a time and a place when only a Big Mac will do.

That's a great read. I'll have a McD's tomorrow now!

As you're "the man" - what is the official line on asking for say, a Quarter P with Mac sauce? I know I asked above but wanted the insider info.
As such a high profile company we have had to evolve in recent years and now need transparency as to where our produce comes from and dispel any myths. This is what sets us apart from the competition. I get that everyone has different tastes and some prefer BK but I've never seen any publication from them giving any provenance as to where their beef or chicken originates or what cuts of meat they use. You also might want to check how BK cook their burgers, there's certainly an element of microwaving...

McDonald's also has a greater level of control over their franchisees, unlike all of the competition so you're more likely to get a level of consistency and food hygiene etc. As an example BK and KFC franchisees source their own property, sometimes without much expertise behind the decision and why you see more closures than you will by McDonald's.

While I do clearly have a level of bias, I do understand what our competitors are about and know they many steps behind McDonald's in terms of evolution. Thankfully a lot of our customers seem to like what we're doing to and speak with their feet as our sales have seen phenomenal growth over the past 8 years.

Officially I'm sure they shouldn't, but I suspect if you wanted Big Mac sauce in a Quarter Pounder it would be done.

Anyhow, enough of the McD vs BK, I'm happy to answer McD questions where I can but not going to bite and defend the brand as the evidence is all online if you want to search for it. (And no, I don't work in PR or with the food, or I'd probably be far better informed)

I've noticed the use of microwaves to reheat "flame-grilled" burgers at BK. Sometimes the grilled flavour is artificial, like they add liquid smoke to the mix or some other flavour.

Their premises vary hugely in terms of quality too, with many being past their best.

Despite McD's best efforts you wil always get the negativity as shown above.

No need for that, Baryonyx!

I think it's interesting to read what Alex has to say about these tasty food and beverage products and he's been as fair as he could from what I can see. Absolutely no need to rip into him like that.

Sampled a "Grand" yesterday, I'm not a big Maccy D or BK fan TBH.

It was not bad at all, I did think the burgers were a bit limp and found myself wishing they'd slapped a couple of quarter pounders in there instead as they seem to be the tastiest patty they do.

I would vote for BK every time, if only because the food is cooked relatively fresh. Our McDonald have burgers ready-made sitting on the metal trays for god knows how long. The number of times I've had a mildy luke warm soggy burger, is now the reason I go to BK every time.

"Made for you" is being rolled out nationally in McDonald's so burgers will be made to order everywhere soon with the Argos style numbered ordering system.

BK burgers are cooked, left in the holding bins and then microwaved to heat them up when ordered....enjoy.

What happens behind the scenes happens behind the scenes, as I'm sure it has potential to (to a lesser or greater extent) in any eatery. Point is it is presented to the customer hot and seemingly freshly prepared.

You know full well that the guidelines for food prep and storage that apply to MCD and BK are the same.

Both of them plus KFC and other takeaways often have their most popular burgers ready made and stored in the heated racking for up to 15 minutes so that they can serve "fast food"

Hence all the wrappings/boxes have numbers on them so you can quickly establish how long ago your fresh burger was really made, also this is the main reason why so many people I know who have previously worked at fast food establishments insist on having some variation of the norm to ensure it is actually cooked there and then.

With regard to the actually cooking process BK use these in gas form- http://www.dukemfg.com/industries-served/qsr-broil... so very much a case of real flames for the flame grilled cooking process.

For balance, I like both BK an McD equally for different products, McD milkshakes+mCflurrys with a bacon double or chicken royale with bacon an cheese for me.

My point related to the microwaving element rather than the holding times. In general as McDonald's sells far more burgers than BK they are held for less time. The "Made for you" roll out makes the holding of burgers obsolete.

Don't get me wrong, I eat BK and KFC but if there's a choice I'll always gravitate to McDonald's as in my experience you get a better product.

This "made for you" sounds excellent! I've always found BK to be really hit and miss and, as someone else mentioned, the quality of their premises varies wildly. As for people stating they've seen burgers sitting for 15 mins etc, I can't remember the last time this happened to me.

They've just started the 'made for you' in certain McDonalds over here and I'm not so sure.

You order and pay at the till, are given a ticket with your number on it and then stand five feet away from the till with everyone else looking up at a screen waiting for your number to be displayed.

Not my cup of McFlurry, anyway.

Just ordered a Mac and medium fries for £1.99 with voucher.

Drove 1.5 miles to the next one to order my 6 nuggets and a sprite for £1.99 again with voucher to complete my order.

Why? Why not?

The food was delicious as usual. Although I think they've stripped too much seasoning from the nuggets personally.

And something just occurred to me. The price of BK is far higher than McDonalds in most branches. Motorway service stations are getting towards £8 for a whopper meal. That's a joke!

You can't compare the prices charged at motorway services as the vast majority of BKs are franchises that have to pay a bloody fortune to BK plus the owner of the services plus staff are often on better wages that those on high street locations.

IIRC a large Whopper meal was £6.50 when I used to work at a motorway services almost 15 years ago!!!
