Hi all,

Slightly difficult one, so I thought I would put this out for some suggestions.

I've been asked for a chat about a senior role with a restaurant chain- rather than go into their head office I've been asked to meet at a venue of my choosing for a chat.

It can be anywhere, but I have an earlier meeting in Notting Hill and they have a meeting in Central London, but needs to be interesting/relevant etc.

The thing is, I have been working in Hong Kong for the last 10 months so am a little out of touch with regards to what would be suitable.

It's the fast casual market; so to give an example- 5 Guys- interesting story, interesting in terms of customer choice etc, however, unsuitable for a chat about a role, informal or not.

So anything trendy, different, or interesting spring to mind?

Thanks all in advance!

Lol- or one of their own restaurants!

I'm thinking of Bodeans at Tower Hill, went there at Christmas.

Similar sort of set up, but different, on trend, good at what they do etc.....

Not a burger place - you don't want to interview while eating with your hands!

Interesting option, they will pick up the tab, that said I think it's more drinks than food....

Loads of options... Bar Boulud, Dehesa, Yalla Yalla, Busaba Eathai, Haozhan...

Overall I was disappointed with Chophouse, although their wings are the best I've had in London. The main was a damp squib.

I'd go to Novikov on Berkley street - top end prices, and great food but a MASSSIVE demonstration of how to know your market, which I assume is an integral part of your role?? The Asian food there is incredible.

If your paying apply for the re mortgage immediately.

Beast it's from the people who brought you Burger and Lobser but all they serve is Alaskan King Crab and Nabraskan rib-eye.

Hi all,

Just a quick pre update.

I booked Chop Shop.

They are paying, however, it's an interview per se so I'll be guided by what they have - a she by way...

I'm not too sure if I can manage a monster steak with the whole interview thing, plus someone I've just met, and a lack of alcohol !!

I need to be on best behaviour!

Will update tomorrow when I get back.

Quick update-

Great venue, spoke to them before hand and had a table in the back that was out of the way.

Was there chatting for over two and a half hours, had spicy wings and steak.

And yes, they paid...

Good to hear. thumbup

If you get the job, do I get a commission payment for impressing your new employer with such a great suggestion for a lunch venue?
