Pub / restaurant breakfast
Discussion
I've noticed more and more pubs / restaurants are doing breakfast and not just the places attached to hotels. Recently I’ve been to Havester and Toby Carvery and I have to say they are pretty good for the money. I would imagine the local greasy spoons aren’t too happy but for only a couple of quid more than a cafe you can get a pretty decent start to the day.
Anyone been to other similar establishments?

Never ventured in, but a local Crown pub does an all you can eat breakfast for £4. Could be dangerous.
Me & the OH go to our local Crown for breakfast quite often. Normally when we can't be bothered to cook. £5 with a glass of juice, and the food is always fresh and hot. Can't complain tbh.

Oh and Franky and Bennys are worth a mention for their excellent Triple stack pancakes with egg and bacon for £5.
I LOVE Franky & Bennys breakfast.Haven't had anything there that I haven't enjoyed.

AYCE English at the Toby Carvery near us is £3.99 during the week, of course they then charge you £2 for a coffee but still, it's decent grub for next to nothing.
Coffee is unlimited, though.I've been using Tobys like this for a couple of years. Must try a comparison test with Crown and Harvester.

'Spoons have done it for ages and cheap
Also not as good as Frankies! This is fun!
I'm not a gourmet by any stretch, it's bacon, sausage, eggs and stuff, FFS. Breakfast. I'd happily pay a bit more for something special, but I'd likely have to pay 7 or 8 quid for good quality sausages and dry cured bacon so I'd rather make that at home.
This kind of thing attracts me for the AYCE aspect. I've been to a couple of Tobys and the food has been perfectly acceptable and being unlimited there's been loads of it so it's really been properly brunch as I didn't eat until dinner time.
Had one at a Wetherspoons recently and it was ok but more expensive and not as good as our usual Saturday morning breakfast from a local independent cafe. The Mrs paid an extra 50p for mushroom with hers and it turned out to be a single mushroom not all that much bigger than 50p Free coffee refils was a nice touch though.
I was a bit surprised at how many people were sat in the pub with a pint on the go at 10am on a Saturday.

If I could afford it and didn't have type 2 (and a fiance) I'd probably be with them!I was a bit surprised at how many people were sat in the pub with a pint on the go at 10am on a Saturday.
