Anyone else dying for a kfc?
Discussion
Just been to my local for me and her indoors. asked for a mighty bucket for one, a flamin warap and a bbq wrap and a coffee that comes with the mighty bucket. i pay and soon enough a large bag is placed in front of me to take home.. well as well as the food i ordered, i delve deeper into the bag to reveal 2 large beans 2 large gravy, a pulled chicken burrito and two zinger burgers and 2 corn on the cobs and a box of popcorn chicken . and instead of the one portion of fries, seems we have 4. i was the only one in the takeaway so not got another bods order... happens a lot at the stanningley road a647 kfc at armley.. was fresh cooked too and was just what we fancied. cheers kfc !!! tomorrows lunch on you guys i guess cheers. the corn was brilliant with a little butter too
I had a KFC tonight, about the only thing I could grab due to a manic day at work. Unusually, it was about the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. Even the crispy coating on the chicken was massively over-seasoned. I would have thought they wouldn't mess with that carefully concocted mix but apparently they do. The last piece of chicken was borderline inedible. And they missed my hot wings out too.
Tomorrow, I'll be going to Morrison's and getting a ham and pease pudding sandwich.

reheated zinger and the burrito today for lunch, have to say the burrito was very tasty, burgers dont take well to a microwave but i was hungry. will be trying more of the burrito range in future.
KFC original recipe chicken reheats really well in a 160C oven for 20 minutes or so. I put the pieces on a ridged cast iron griddle to lift the chicken off the grease and get it nice and crispy.I find that a £15 mighty bucket does two meals for two people easily when approached in this manner.
Mmmmmm... KFC

I don't mind a bit of junk food now and then (apart from Subway after the halal thing), but my local KFC is a right drongo zone.
The food is exactly what you'd expect, but the clientele is noticably scummy. Chavs! Fatties! Layabouts! Tracksuit-wearers! Nose-pickers! Big gobs!
I don't go there in case I become infected with council
Not a snob then? The food is exactly what you'd expect, but the clientele is noticably scummy. Chavs! Fatties! Layabouts! Tracksuit-wearers! Nose-pickers! Big gobs!

Around here KFC is essentially a North African enclave.

Perhaps it has more to do with where you live rather than kfc? I love good food but I'm a bit weak for junk now and again. Around here KFC is essentially a North African enclave.
Farage would explode.

We make the KFC chicken burger buns.
Millions of them.
Every Wednesday, the mixers start, clean down from previous product batch.
Then we do around 36 hours run of them.
Tricky things to pack, 12 in the bag.
6 on the bottom, 6 on top of them.
Odd shaped, with water splits.

Joint chicken, brine for 24 hours (salt, lemons, dried herbs). Flour really heavily seasoned with salt, white pepper, paprika, oregano, thyme, sage. Buttermilk dip (or 50:50 yoghurt & milk mix) then flour again. Deep fry for 6-7 minutes at 160.Pinched from a tv prog. quoting Thomas Keller as the source.
