Keep filling in the feedback surveys at yourkfc.co.uk and you'll get 20% off your next £5+ order. Handy for perpetually saving shedloads off a bucket meal!

Often crave the original recipe chicken, especially the crispy skin.

A lot of the time its provided as soggy greasy skin which is the beginning of the let down.
Finish it off and the guilt sets in whilst you almost start feeling the grease inside you.

Make note to self not to have KFC based on the above.
Time passes, forget the above.

Lured back to KFC due to the smell and the 'crispy' original recipe chicken.

...and repeat...

Consistency is the problem with KFC - sometimes it's great however often it's rubbish. On the contrary, McD's is always consistently fabulous - as is BK.

I've resorted to spending the extra and going to Nandos if I really fancy dirty chicken.

I've always thought McDonalds was consistently extremely average. You're never likely to get anything too offensive from it, you're never likely to wait too long for your order and it'll never cost you too much.

Though I suppose someone with my username would say that smile

Indeed, McDonald's have terrible QC, particularly overnight. They'll serve up any rubbish at 3AM. KFC is much the same, sadly. Often they'll produce a fantastic meal, on occasion they'll serve up some right old rubbish and usually miss something off your order. The one I usually drive to from home is usually great, as long as you badger them to give you the potted sauces the meals are supposed to include. The one near my work, which I ate from the other day, is very hit and miss. It was a definite miss the other day, sadly. They also forgot my hot wings. 99p for two delicious morsels, the best bit of the meal!

Although McDonald's has issues with quality control, the main failing with McDonald's is the bland, sugary burgers. The fries are fantastic, on the rare occasion they reach you in peak condition. The burgers are dreadful. Burger King are a clear winner if quality matters over price. They're considerably more expensive than the competition, but always deliver a product that looks pretty close to the advertised item and they taste fantastic. They always have crisp, fresh veg too. The aforementioned 3AM McDonald's usually comes with grey, wilting veg that looks like it was scraped off the floor. But even at their best, McDonald's can't compete on quality.

I'm afraid that I'm a McD's diehard through and through guys. Love the stuff. Would eat it for every meal if I could.

I've always quite liked MCDs, although I've never been a regular customer, but generally thought they were tasty...

Until last year. A couple of us stopped for one at lunchtime, and it was absolutely disgusting. I don't think the "burger" could have been any thinner - and it was as dry as cardboard anyway. It was absolutely rank.

That visit was probably my first in a couple of years, and I was genuinely surprised at how awful the food had become. Maybe I was just unlucky, but even if they were having a bad day I assume the 1mm thick burger is still going to be just as thin on a good day. Don't think I'll ever be back in one.

I agree with some of the earlier comments that KFC is pretty variable in quality too - but even when it's bad, it's still pretty good!

As a parent of 2 young (under 6) children, I can vouch for the "Oasis" that McDonalds can be - worldwide!

You know exactly what you are going to get, how much it will cost, the quality is average - not great, not ste, just average, free WiFi and usually spotless inside, especially the toilets! Coffee is good too & you get the freebie stickers!

Also, in France they are excellent when travelling as quite often, you fail to find that quiet little Bistro, frequented by all the locals that dishes up the most amazing French food & is just off the Autoroute!

McD's can be a winner - cheaper & less hassle than a divorce or whinging kids! I know I have not set my aspirations high but real life kind of gets in the way most of the time! Was eating at the Shard on Saturday night but McDonalds after swimming on Sunday - living the dream!

If you were my dad I'd report you to childline for taking me there for tea wink

I agree in France. It's the only bloody place open on a Sunday. Like going back to 1978!

I don't mind a bit of junk food now and then (apart from Subway after the halal thing), but my local KFC is a right drongo zone.
The food is exactly what you'd expect, but the clientele is noticably scummy. Chavs! Fatties! Layabouts! Tracksuit-wearers! Nose-pickers! Big gobs!
I don't go there in case I become infected with council
Not a snob then?
True though isn't it.

Around here KFC is essentially a North African enclave.
Maybe smile

That woman was trying it on. Yeah they do sometimes forget stuff and you're stupid for not checking but to say their drinks were missing sounds like horsest. You tend to notice something as large as a fking drink!
