Ok, being perilously low on both tonic and gin, I picked up some safeway tonic along wih a few 'Q' tonic bottles and headed over to the liquour store.
Ended up with another bottle of Beefeater 24 as I wasn't overly interested in being adventurous.
I recounted their stock - 82 varieties of gin. No changes to the list above though.
I special ordered Isle of Harris gin; be interesting to see what that costs.
Of the ones on your list, I'd be tempted to get the Caorunn first, then Sipsmith. As an aside, before I moved here, US friends always wanted me to bring in Plymouth Gin for them. It might have been harder to get then, ~10 years ago.
thanks very much, will do!Ended up with another bottle of Beefeater 24 as I wasn't overly interested in being adventurous.

So, instead of duty free, you could take something they can't get...

Conker's very good indeed, and is made only about 300m from where I used to live in Southbourne, Bournemouth!
I picked up 2 bottles when I was local last month from Majestic Wines in Parkstone. Most of the 1st bottle went in 1 sitting with a mate. Oops. *hic*

Never judge a book by its cover and all that; was left very underwhelmed by this one:
As per previous page, I'm struggling to find something as good as Bathtub at the moment, so any suggestions (not Monkey 47) would be appreciated.
I tried "Norfolk Gin" (white bottle) at the weekend, similar to Bath tub, very herby. Nice. No further details, I was in a bar and pissed. As per previous page, I'm struggling to find something as good as Bathtub at the moment, so any suggestions (not Monkey 47) would be appreciated.
Edited to add, it was easy to find http://norfolkgin.co.uk/
We've added a few bottles (bulldog, hendricks and opihr) to our mini gin collection thanks to my lovely folks.
Actually quite enjoying the Opihr with tonic and a couple of red chilli slices. Sets it off better than citrus seemed too. I also quite like the fairly overpowering cardamon smell it gives off as it makes a nice change
Also recently had Millers strongly recommended to us. Is it worth getting as an alternative to hendricks/tanqueray etc?

During the summer I visited "Gin Tonic" - a new bar and restaurant.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@38.5994604,-0.04774...
They had over 400 different gins in stock.
I'm not a gin expert, so I ordered a Hendricks and Schweppes.
They put cucumber and rose petals (I think) in it.
It was by far the nicest gin and tonic that I have ever had.

I was bought some Sir Robin of Locksley gin for Christmas (being from Sheffield the gift bearer thought it would be a good gift):

It was so good the bottle was finished by 7pm.

What else is in the Hendricks box? I've got a couple of their tea cup and saucers. Love the ltd edition freebies. So quaint.
Some recent additions to my collection:
Harris Gin - yet to crack this open but i've seen a lot of positive reviews. The bottle is stunning too, will have to re-purpose that when finished with the contents.
Liverpool Gin - Again yet to crack this open, a duty free purchase at Manchester Airport.
Copperhead Gin - Enjoying this one, finding it quite dry, not as spicy as an Ophir but it has a nice citrus taste to it.
Arbikie Gin - Not a big fan of this, didn't find it as strong and flavorful as some of my regular gins. Don't think I'd buy it again.
Slingsby Rhubarb Gin - Really enjoyed this, the best rhubarb gin that i've sampled.
Gin Bothy - Not very well known as yet but I was at an evening sampling some of this stuff. A gin liqueur, they do a blueberry, raspberry, rhubarb, mulled, maple and chilli gin. My two favourite examples were known as the gunshot and the chilli which has a real kick to it. Best enjoyed cold and neat. I think this stuff will catch on in a big way.
