If you like bergamot, the Heston gin from Waitrose is rather nice.

Looking for some reccomendations for a nice gin, something a bit different!

Having a few friends round end of Feb for a gin tasting night! Currently about 20 people....

Deal is that each couple brings a bottle of gin and some aromatics / botanicals to the evening. But it can't be a super market available high street brand.... so any suggestions for something different? I've already got a collection of gins including the usual suspects, caroon, Hendricks, monkey, tanquerys, rock rose etc etc but just fancied trying something different. Any suggestions on the botanicals would be great too!

Isle of Harris gin? Infused with sugar kelp or something, only available direct but it's a winner!

A big fan here. But for something that is slightly different may I suggest Pickering's Gin - the original 1947 version with the orange top. It's quite distinctive.

3rd vote for Harris. You can buy it with the sugar kelp drops too and drink it neat with that.

Shetland Reel is also worth a look. They are doing a ltd edition navy strength gin at the moment which I've just ordered a bottle of.

Help much appreciated!

Made in Bournemouth, about 300 yards from where I used to live in BH6.
It's lovely stuff.

Brockmans still a firm fave. As is Warner Edwards Rhubarb and now added their regular gin to the drinks cabinet. Plus a bottle of 'the Botanist'. Recommendations welcome.

After a long and boozy lunch here on Saturday:

http://thequalitychophouse.com/ (strongly recommended)

My dining partner and I headed here for a gin extravaganza:

Very impressive - if somewhat harsh on the wallet smile

Any of you subscribe to Craft Gin Club or Gin Explorer? I'm currently on both, was going to do both then decide which to keep but 4 months in I'm enjoying them both too much to pick!!!

Arbikie's AK Gin and Glandalough Irish Gin are both current winners from Craft Gin club, though I have to say I haven't been let down at all yet.

Outside of this, Poetic License and Tarquins were my pick of 2016.

Also on my third batch of home made bathtub gin.

Will add some collection pictures from my phone later.

My favourite from the craft gin club was the Four Pillars.

Someone mentioned above Warner Edwards Rhubarb. My missus lives that with rose lemonade.

Yes, Four Pillars was great! First bottle I received, I've been pretty sparring so have a little left too.

Still to try this months properly (just had a really small nip neat), I think tonight is the night! Were you affected by the leaking stoppers? I was unfortunately but it still seems to be almost full.

Yes ours leaked a tiny bit. I've not tried it but my gf says it's good.

We finished our four pillars in 2 days, got another bottle for Christmas.

We're in it too! First one arrived earlier in the week. Anyone tried it yet? Any recommendations for garnish etc? Will crack it open tonight. Ours didn't appear to have leaked much.

Also for valentines day I was thinking of grabbing the mrs some large gin "chalices" as she loves them when we go out. Any recommendations? Amazon availability preferred.

On Friday I bought a bottle of The London No.1 Gin (the blue stuff), and a bottle of Gin Mare.

I'm still trying to track down some Schramm Gin (made in Pemberton, B.C.) outside of Canada, or else I must wait until my business trip in October and have it sent to my hotel in Toronto! laugh
