I have this year been introduced to Ely Gin (fairly local to me)

Nice if you fancy something different flavour wise

I have a bottle of Williams Chase Elegant Crisp waiting for me to do it justice, I seem to remember I got it for Christmas so I really should get my act together and polish it off.

On the subject of presents, I've just managed to book the Ginstitute using vouchers from my birthday almost a year ago!
Has anyone been?

Chase make the best vodka, their gin isn't quite as good IMO.

I've drank pretty much everything mentioned in this thread, of the ones mentioned, Monkey 47 is my favourite.

Best I've ever had though I don't think has been mentioned - Warner Edwards: http://www.warneredwards.com/index.php?route=commo...

their rhubarb one is well worth a try too.

A belter of a winter gin in Navy Strength and easily my current favourite. It's tipsy too:

Boyfriend bought me this yesterday. The Gin was thoroughly and completely enjoyed last night in it's entirety... I heart the Tea Cup

Well folks I can thoroughly recommend The Ginstitute at the Portobello Star, spent a lovely couple of hours learning about gin & stuff, then made some of my own:

In my stocking this year...

My new favourite Gin.

We opened it last night. I'm dreading looking to see how much we haven't left in the bottle. It really is good.

I am in Finland, is there any recommendations for me to bring back?

I like Brokers as my standard choice.

However as Im in Finland, this is on the table at the moment

http://www.kyrodistillery.com/products

Im inclined to pick some up from Helsinki airport if it provides cheaper than the £34 I can get it from in UK.

Any other Finnish gins that might be ok?

Isle of Harris distillers released their gin a month ago.

Botanicals include sugar kelp.

Bit different and very nice. Well worth trying. Only available from the distillery website at the moment I think.

Another Bathtub fan, although I am yet to try the Navy Strength variety.

I use Jack Rudy Tonic which gives me an excuse to dig out the sodastream and mix it to my taste lick

I bought a bottle of some local gin on holiday last week. I've not opened it yet as I'm on a dry January. frown

I've had that before. My recommendations: go easy on the botanicals and use an additional piece of muslin cloth to filter them out when bottling.

Apart from that, it's decent.
