Hi,

Can anyone recommend a weekend or short course around brewing beer?

I need a gift for the brother in law and thought a short weekend residential or afternoon at a small microbrewery might improve his skills and the quality of the home brew coming my way. Plus I'll go with him and get utterly leathered before during or/and after.

North west preferred unless a weekender.

It's a win/win gift.

Have you asked around at any local homebrew shops? I know of one in Leeds that run a course once a month which talks you through the process of homebrew from scratch as well as kits etc.

A friend actually just sent me this coupon today: https://m.5pm.co.uk/the-big-deal/edinburgh/99-for-...

Or similar but a bit more pricey (Stewart's beer is very good though): https://www.stewartbrewing.co.uk/craft-beer-kitche...

Both are in Edinburgh, great for a weekend away?

Great suggestions! Thanks very much. There's a huge brew shop near me and that Edinburgh trip is exactly what I'm looking for.
