Is Edd's Diner any good?
Not bad, not brilliant. The burgers are unremarkable, the prices are extortionate. Lovely milkshakes, though. In fact I would say the exact same things about Byron's. Gourmet Burger Kitchen are far better, IMO.

KFC: awesome, if you can stand the peasant clientele. Best to stick to takeaway or drive thru rather than eating in.
McD's: it'll do if I'm starving. Nice milkshakes, crap burgers, OK chicken stuff, generally the fastest of the fast food outlets. Again better as a takeaway.
Burger King: the burgers are infinitely superior to McD's, let down by stale bread buns and usually rubbish service.
Nando's: awesome. One of my favourites. Chicken, chilli and chips, what's not to like?
Frankie and Benny's: st. Utter st. No redeeming feature whatsoever. Expensive, crap food, crap service. Consistently crap, too.
TGIs: God I hate the bloody birthday singing, but the Jack Daniels ribs are magic!
Ask: Garbage. An insult to Italian food.
Zizzi's: rather good for a chain.
Piccolino: again pretty good, bit expensive but never had a bad meal or poor service.
Las Iguanas: ace.
Giraffe: not bad, usually decent service and our little girl likes the plastic giraffes they give out!
Pizza Express: not bad, but I can never forgive them for discontinuing the pizza with a really good, meaty fennel and chill sausage on it.
Prezzo: pretty good.
Chiquitos: usually fairly decent, bar one duff meal a few years ago. Expensive, though.
Harvester: I'd rather have a Pot Noodle.
Brewers Fayre: as above. Complete and utter toss.
Wetherspoon's: good for cheap and varied beer. Mediocre food. Most of them attract scumbags like a discarded kebab attracts rats.
Pizza Hut: not as tasty as it used to be, somehow. Buffet is good value as long as it's neither so quiet they never bring anything fresh out nor so busy that the hordes devour everything the moment it's put out.
Wagamamas: only been once, enjoyed the food, marred by having the world's most inept waitress.

Gbk is very good. Sign up to the app and they have loads of offers.
Mcd , reliable and still good.and cheap.
Pizza ex , expensive without an offer , but very reliable quality.the base of the pizza is the best.
KFC , menu too varied now , so slow service and and chips are not great now.

Wimpy , if u have one near u , give it a whirl , qtr with cheese meal with a milkshake, terrific , a taste of my childhood!

Lastly , don't forget the sit down chippy , went to one in Hastings yesterday.beautiful cod and top draw chips plus a can of drink £7.50. Was superb.

Pizza Express.

Very family friendly (best I've been too). The food's nice and the prices not daft. The Calabrese pizza's very good.

If you think KFC is comparable, bully for you - but it makes you look a bit of an idiot to compare somewhere with dirty tables, paper boxes/cups and plastic trays with somewhere that does table service and has grown-up cutlery/plates.
Opinions of the food are at least subjective, but you would have to be a bit thick to think that the experience is comparable.
Look at you getting all insulting because you love Nandos so much and it upsets you that others don't hold it in such high regard.
Idiot? Thick?
If we are going to question one another's intelligence levels over chicken opinions, as much as it pains me to lower myself to your level, it is you who appears to be unable to comprehend that different people can have a different perception of the same thing.
Getting angry because someone perceives chicken, chips and coleslaw to be quite similar to chicken, chips and coleslaw is borderline insane. It's like I insulted your wife or something judging by your reaction.
I'm really not angry, and I'm really not a Nando's enthusiast. I just can't understand why someone would be so deliberately obtuse and to completely fabricate comparisons about such a straightforward topic of discussion - to then hide behind the "it's just my opinion" and "I won't lower myself to your level" lines...
The internet is a strange place.

Pretending that you don't now love Nandos that much as though that will make us believe that you weren't that angry when you started throwing around cheap insults and now trying to play the "look at me I'm just a reasonable bloke - read my calm words" card doesn't really cut the mustard after your previous tantruming posts I am afraid.
The fact that you think that chicken, chips, coleslaw and a soft drink is a completely different meal to chicken, chips, coleslaw and a soft drink and that anyone who disagrees with you is a stupid idiot, or similar, says infinitely more about you than me.
And I bet I can guess where your lucky wife gets taken out for a lovely anniversary meal.

Give it a rest you two, it's quite clear you've both misinterpreted each other's posts and are now refusing to back down.

My 2p worth - Nandos is a step up from KFC, KFC and Roosters are on a par with each other and all are a step up from Morley's, Dallas, PFC etc.

Lifestyle 'judgement' from a guy who spends his time posting in The Lounge. How will I cope...?

If you want to get this thread back on track, it might help to be a bit more magnanimous about the fact that:
- You were wrong about comparable experiences/meals for £6
- You were wrong about spending less at Wagamama's
- Your opinion about KFC being comparable flies in the face of popular opinion

But hey, a guy doesn't amass 23,000 posts over a decade by admitting fault, right?

I already admitted I was wrong about Wagamamas being cheaper. I am happy to admit when I am wrong. You chose to ignore that as it lost you evidence for your hysteria.
Your points 1 & 3 seem to be the same to me. It's like you have split it into two to make it seem like you have more of a point by numbering it. "Look everybody I have three points." Well done Dave. Once you have realised you don't really have any point, you resort to the old post-count insult. Well done again, Dave. That is definitely relevant to this and your point is definitely more valid because I have made more posts than you.
I started this by acknowledging popular opinion was against mine and yet despite you refusing to believe that opinions can be different- they can. Just because you don't believe it due to your love of Nandos, it's still a fact.

Anyway, I am genuinely bored of this circular argue about chicken. And a bit embarrassed if truth be told so lets just accept that you think Nandos is a vastly superior meal to KFC and I will continue to believe it is only marginally better and not worth double.
You aren't going to change my mind by your sulky numbered arguments and your post-count excitement and I am not going to change yours by saying that chicken, chips , coleslaw and a soft drink is similar to chicken, chips, coleslaw and a soft drink so lets agree to differ.

It was daughters 7th b'day yesterday and she chose TGI Fridays for her treat. It really wasn't good. The waitress was all full of fake smiles and American accents but was fking useless. Just before the food arrived she asked if we wanted more drinks, to which we said yes. They never came, 10 minutes later she came back checking everything was ok. Er...drinks? "Oh yeah forgot about those".

The speed at which the food came could have been measured by glacial retreat. It looked and tasted like it had arrived in packet and microwaved so fk knows why it took so long.

I woke up this morning feeling like st, probably because of the food.

It really isn't hard to do cheap food to a reasonable standard but it was awful.

One of the downsides to living in Milton Keynes is chain restaurants are really your only choice.

Carluccio's
Previously I rated these guys as better than average on the high street. I like the little shop they all have and the staff are generally excellent.
However, I went for lunch the other day and the menu was short and dull. I ordered a Carbonara which I swear had cream in it and was under seasoned, I do better at home.

I wanted a Wagamama but the Mrs had decided that she didn't want anything spicey or smelly (we were going to a wedding straight afterwards) she suggested italian or french which I found hilarious on the basis of neither nation being shy on the garlic front.

Not sure if it's country-wide, but our local Prezzos suffers from rather indifferent service.

For me:

Nandos - Not loads more than KFC but much rather eat here.
Pizza Express - Consistent if expensive.
Carluccio's - not had a bad meal yet, again not the cheapest.
Wetherspoons - Cheap and cheerful
Byrons - Not loads more than McDonalds but much rather eat here.

ETA Bodeans Brisket, pulled pork and burt ends are ace! Ribs and Burgers can be a little overdone, would love a local one but to be fair we have a couple of good BBQ places in MK.
