Jamie's Italian...
Discussion
Italian restaurant founded by Jamie Oliver, who's neither Italian or does any of the cooking.
I'll let you draw your own conclusions, but I guarantee the food will be half decent and you'll pay more than you would at a non-chain Italian.
Just my experience of the one at Nottingham anyway.

It's just a chain (albeit slightly more upmarket than average) of Italian restaurants. The food/atmosphere are OK for a quick meal, but probably not worth getting excited about for an anniversary unless you're on a budget.
+1My Mrs likes Jamies Italian. I am not the biggest fan of Italian food, but as Dave 200 and another poster said the food will be good at an ok price for London.

Agree with this it's not special in an anniversary kind of way. Decent enough for a chain but treat her to a proper Italian cooked by Italians from Italy. toon10 said:
We tried the one in York. The food was average at best, the staff were elitist, we waited ages for everything and the price was more in line with a decent restaraunt, not an ordinary chain.
Other than that, I hope you both enjoy it
Strange, York is our nearest one and we have been on several occasions and its been OK. Agree with those above, its not a place I would choose for a romantic anniversary dinner, but for a family lunch or dinner, its always been OK, kids (4 and 8) both enjoy it, staff are always friendly and efficient, prices average.Other than that, I hope you both enjoy it
From my experience of a couple of different ones (Reading and Bristol), they are at most a 5/10 - nothing special and really not worth the money you pay. Whenever we've gone, lunch has always become £50+ and it's never felt like money well spent.
Personally, for a special occasion, I wouldn't. In fact, for lunch, we no longer go either.
