When ordering food if anyone offers you the choice of meat or strawberry filling, you should take that as a clue that you've ordered badly biggrin

Pierogi are a winner, especially the 'ze miesem' variety made by Ye Jedrusia (check the Polish but at Tesco). Absolutely amazing with bacon and fried onions.

The bagged gherkins are awful though, if they're kept in brine. The salty taste is just awful, it's like drinking seawater.

Spicy kiełbasa wiejska, good taste but a few chunks of gristle.

Random raw meat for spreading on bread he gave me for free after I enquired about it. Haven't dared try it yet.

RAW meat spread? Do you cook it or just eat it and hope for the best?

Straight from the pack raw apparently, the chap in the shop seems to like my custom so I'm convinced he isn't pranking me, either way I was too scared and it went in the bin. I might revisit next time I'm in Poland in the hope it's slightly less "travelled".

Worth keeping an eye out for Romanian Sausage or Mici, its pronounced Meech and I have to put in a special order but the Romanian Horse Salami is delicious.

Unfortunately I seem to like the very unhealthy things. Smalec (basically bacon fat) is really nice on bread:

According to Google translate (so take it with a pinch of salt), it's 'tag-flavored onion'.
