Manchester Resturants

Afternoon all
Visiting Manchester for my 40th next month - staying at Malmaison near I think Piccadilly station. Looking for recommendations for a decent restaurant for my 40th meal.
Budget for the night will be up to £100 pp - doesn't have to anything fancy - anywhere that does decent meat/fish and vino will do.
Any recommendations appreciated.
Cheers

That place is evil, I did the "walk of shame" burger last Wednesday, ruined me for the rest of the night.

Solita as above is very good so +1. OP, it's not fancy but it's not as casual as some of the other burger places around i.e. it's an actual sit down restaurant that do other things as well. They've recently opened one at the top of my street and I'm not sure if my body can take any more of their food but I keep finding myself going in
Manchester House seems to divide opinion, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. We ate at the 2 star Hand and Flowers in Marlow the week before and I thought Manchester House was better so take from that what you will I guess.

The French
Michael Caine (at the ABode hotel- practically right opposite the mal)
Manchester House
San Carlo Cicchetti if you want something a bit more casual but still superb food.
Hawksmoor
The Restaurant at the Mal is half decent too if you don't want to travel far

though you have zero chance of getting in at Manchester House or The French (iirc MH is booked up until Januaryish)
Taps is pretty good and you can pour your own beer from a beer tap on your table!
