Really enjoyable evening - thanks to all who came along.

Good to catch up with old friends, and put faces to names and meet new people too. smile

I've just arrived home. Had a good evening and nice to meet some fellow (whisky) drinkers.

I felt quite awful up until about 2 hours ago whenI remembered going off on a rant in the bar after the tasting. Apologies for that as I was quite a bit drunk than I realised! hehe

Huge thanks to Coneyhurst Blue for his incredibly generous 7th bottle - a bold Glendronach which rounded off a good tasting event.

Hopefully people found something they liked and maybe even consider trying a few new things in the future.

I'll dig out the full tasting list later.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night, and it was good to put some more names to faces - so thanks again to Podie for organising, and as mentioned Coneyhurst Blue for number 7 which was superb - both the gesture and the Glendronach!!

Great intentions not to buy anything were soon forgotten after tasting that Benriach..

Mrs Podie here, and posting this with permission from the boss. For those who didn't already know, we had Podie's mum's funeral the day before the whisky night.

It's been a tricky old summer, knowing that his beloved mum and my lovely friend was going to leave us, and to be honest, we didn't really want to be with other human beings this week.

Despite that, we are both grateful that we didn't bottle it. We owe our lovely friends who knew the situation a massive thank you for carrying us through - you are incredible and we are blessed to be able to call you friends. And to the people we met on the night, how great to meet you - we would have missed out if we hadn't made it.

Thank you all for making a brilliant memory for this week, to sit alongside some of the more poignant ones.

Please raise a glass at the first opportunity to Judith, who made my husband the man he is, which is not so bad.

Moving words indeed, and I for one am glad neither of you bottled it and could enjoy the evening.

Raising a glass here..

Sorry to hear of your loss. I will raise a glass after the marathon tomorrow.

Was a pleasure meeting you all and thank you to CB for the bottle he brought along.

PS. I'm still blaming Paul if I don't get a PB! hehe

Was sorry to hear of your loss, and many thanks for following through with the evening. It was great to catch up with everyone and meet some new people.
I hope this can become an annual event smile
