Hoping some one can help identify these Chilli peppers for me

im thinking they look like habanero/scotch bonnet types.

Just need to find out what they are before attempting to make something with them

Proceed with caution then smile

i was thinking of making a Chilli con carne, how would you go about preparing and adding to food and how many ?

Lad a work who got them off his uncle for me forgot what they are but said he handles them with gloves, adds them whole cooks and then removes the whole pepper.

I'm thinking lash the lot in big pan of Chilli con carne and take it to work ........

They're naga, though impossible to say the specific variant. 1-2 will give a good kick to a standard size family pot of chilli. Just chop them up small and throw them in, or you could take an end off, throw them in the pan whole and remove them before the end. This method will get the flavour out of them without some of the heat.

Ask yourself, what's the worse that could happen? Bang them all in, chap.

I made the con carne this morning, I slightly modified a Jamie Oliver recipe I found on Google,

I ended up using 3 chili sin total, 2 finely chopped up and one opened up and added to the pan and stirred in, it's a bit naughty but just right for me. Would of perfect if I'd made guacamole and had some sour cream/nachos on the side

Chilli heat dissipates the longer you cook the dish.

I put 10 Scotch Bonnets in a jerk paste to marinate 2Kg of chicken pieces. After two hours slow-grilling on the BBQ it has layers of flavour, rather than being ghoulishly hot.

Thread revival,

I was in tesco the other day and picked up some Komodo dragon chilli's, Iv never heard of them but they looked interesting so bought a pack.just remembered I had these so thought I'd chop and add one to a frozen pizza . Wow flavor sensation or what, not to mention Hot!

I swear I had a chilli buzz . And apparently 2nd hottest chilli in the world. Bring on the Carolina reaper ........proceed with caution

What Tesco sell in the Komodo Dragon package is actually the reaper, or at least this was true a couple of months ago. There's a thread about it somewhere.

What kind of pussy cooks them in a dish whole and takes them out? Get them chopped up and enjoy the goodness.

Look like Scotch Bonnets to me too.

From what I read late last night they sell the reaper aswell, although when I looked in my local tesco there was only the Komodo amaongst bird eye and mixed chillis

I did use the search function, but it came up blank

You are a sad little boy chasing me around to comment on my posts.

I did not resurrect the thread and not everyone seems to think that they are scotch bonnets.
