Serrano Ham - the on the bone type

This year I am determined to get myself a Serrano ham, stand and nice knife.
Question is.....any recommendations? Seems I can get ones from M & S that are boneless, stuff from Amazon that is on the bone or do I wait and see if Lidl are having them again this year. My chum got one last year from there and its that which sparked my interest.
Been looking at all sorts of things this afternoon and to be honest, I'm a bit peckish now!
I would think carefully about buying one if there aren't a good number of you who will eat it. It's nice once you get going, but there's a lot of it!

Fairly sure the one I had will have been Aldi or Lidl.

Not really, it lasts at least a month once opened.I would think carefully about buying one if there aren't a good number of you who will eat it. It's nice once you get going, but there's a lot of it!
I wish they'd just sell the ham on its own. The metal bits went in the recycling bin and the wood in the fire.
I am sure there's still time for Lidl to offer them during December.
As you say, if you're getting the stand then certainly get the knife to go with it. Makes it much easier.
When you're in London, I don't know how near you would ever be to one of these places:

They sell whole legs but the prices will likely be a bit "saw you coming" as aside from them occasionally being offered across the land by Lidl, they're not really very common in UK homes! I've never bought one as I don't own a stand/knife, the parents do.
The issue I find is when I offer to slice some, not many slices reach the plate but instead go into my mouth!
Remember to keep the fat from first slicing, to place back on the leg when you're not slicing. Then cover with a tea towel.

My one from Aldi included a knife with the stand. Mines a busy house with a lot of hungry carnivores. I read that they will last months if kept right......fag. Hands of that.
I have read about keeping the fat to lay on. Also heard cling film is best, tea towel is best or tin foil is best.
I wonder which is best.

A mate came round on New year's Eve with one last year as a gift. It had been reduced in Asda that day to £5 or £2 or something ridiculous. It came in a massive purple box with wooden stand and lasted about three months in my larder before I chucked it having eaten about a third. Wife did moan about the smell every time she went in the larder for the first 4 weeks.
