Chinese mushroom curry with chips and a couple of pancake rolls:

And tonight's 1/2lb garlic mushroom burger from a local pizza place, I thought I'd deviate, it was awesome:

Great looking burger, I can get a decent 1/2lb here but not with mushrooms...which I would love! That Chinese looks a bit ropey though, iffy chips and manky looking rolls, I think they need to change their oil.

Light lunch from Venus in Leeds today -

Iskender kebab with sides. Had some baklava and a mint tea to wash it down later on.
That looks awesome, great to see some rice served with kebab, I'd much prefer that.

Special sweet and sour and black bean. I did my own salt and chilli seasoning for the chips. Including MSG
Nice touch, I've been using a jar of Nando chip seasoning.

Chinese looks more appetising than the burger IMO.

Do you have to ask? The ingredients say 60% mechanically separated chicken.
Because what you get from the take away is much better quality and far less mechanically separated brains and dicks. Threads about dirty takeway to be fair, not dirty supermarket food.

Actually decent lamb doner (it being labelled lamb doner is the important part) is made from Lamb breast or shoulder, with spices/garlic. That's it. If you frequent a 'decent' kebab house, no worries. I'm sure there are unscrupulous manufacturers of this particular foodstuff out there, but for the most part what you have written is just an old wives tale.

Kebab time.

I'm curious, has anyone bought kebab meat from a supermarket?
I know asda used to sell some ready meal afew years back but I never bothered to try it. Iceland sells frozen doner meat on it's own.

I have tried that it's ok not great but ok,just use lots of onions and chilli sauce.

I find it quite ironic that these takeaways are placed on top of the cooker before being photographed.

OT it is easy to make.

Buy some lamb mince, add to bowl. Add lemon, lime, chilli(flakes or fresh), garlic, rosemary, ginger and Turkish spices.

Wrap around a few skewers stick in fridge for a few hours and grill. I usually grill it off with some veg and add to kebabs. Really simple.
