Yeah. King prawn. I did the s&p for the riding whips again. Bit thirsty this morning.

Spent 2 days throwing up, couldn't even handle water, yet today I'm feeling much better and have managed toast. I really shouldn't be looking at this thread as I'm wondering whether this evening is too early for dirty food?

After squinting at that pic for a little while, I still can't work out what it all is...

looks like a roast. I can see potatoes, carrots and peas. everything else is just completely drowned in the gravy. I could never eat a roast with that much gravy, you might aswell make some kind of roast stew.

The gravy is needed to mask the rank meat, if it is meat

The whole lot could be anything, which along with it challenging a pub toilet in the dirty stakes, makes it worthy, if somewhat unusual or different.

Personally, not a chance - drunk as a monkey or just in need of some filth, a roast has never, ever crossed my mind as a solution.

Will any of our local establishments win the British Takeaway Award this week?

Judging by the pictures on this thread, no biggrin

ETA: unless there's a "massive filthy 'bab" award

Nice to see the Har Gow making an appearance - a few of my locals tried to add Dim Sum to their starter menu but charge such a silly amount for reheating frozen stuff from the local Chinese supermarket that it's just not cricket.

I'd happily opt for all dim sum from a takeaway if the option was there.

I'm going to have to try McGonagles off the Scottish list, they'll probably deliver to me.

We have a pretty decent chippy on our doorstep so we've never ventured further.

In Yorks and Humberside there are only 5 entrants!

On a similar note have you ever tried Shimla Spice for takeaway or sit down? They've just won another award: http://shimlaspice.co.uk/awards/
'Restaurant of the year', although who hosted it i've no idea. I've been going for years now to both Bradford area ones and it really is worth a visit, fantastic food, well priced, good service, take your own booze.
