I feel bad for your southerners. I present exhibit A in why the south sucks for takeaways.

A below average mixed grill that I ordered from some place in Canada Water a few nights ago. Very little change left from a £20 note. I could have had a proper feast for the same amount back home in Leeds!

You must be even further north than me (Cheshire) with those prices. What the hell is a parsley cake? Sounds foul.

A sachet of sauce the same price as a pickled onion? Madness!

Just across a bit in Leeds, this place is pretty low-rent with a lot of reputable local competition.

A parsley cake is one of those fish and mash discs of breadcrumb coated goodness they used to churn out at primary school, they have flecks of green in them, presumably that's parsley, hardly the leading lady in the performance though.

The onions were as large as a golf ball if that helps the madness, it might make it worse though depending on where you see the value smile

Have just had a rather nice tapas lunch with wine.

Could murder a parsley cake butty and a picked onion.

Quick question - is that a fish folded in half in a bap ? Or a couple of scallops in a bap ?

I do so miss decent fish and chips (Leeds born, grew up in Wakefield) village where my parents lived had 3 fish and chip shops !! I'm now in Kent, and not knocking Kent fish and chips - just not the same as what you grow up on.

Parents now live in Outwood - and The Empire fish and chip shop have an extra large/long bap which a Haddock special fits in lovely - sat here drooling now .....😏

what is that?

a first glance it looks like 'something' seriously overcooked in batter then presented in a week old roll.
