I'm still due you a sample of my SMWS 119.14. I just don't want to open it because I'm scared I'll drink it all in one go! hehe

Have you tried the Yoichi 15 or 20 year olds? 20yo has to be one of my favourite whiskies. Also the single casks that I have tasted have been amazing. Problem is almost all of those are £400+!
Not tried it no!

Any recommendation for a Japanese whisky aged in plum liqueur barrels? Tried Hibiki 12 recently and t was immense, but impossible to get at a reasonable price now.
As far as I'm aware, Hibiki 12 is rather unique in this respect. Have you tried the plum liqueur itself though? You can buy it from some asian supermarkets, and certainly through The Japan Centre or some online boozeries. The cheap stuff is sweet, but the slightly more expensive has a lovely sweet yet sharp taste.

£190 for the 12 and £500 for the 17. Obviously we dont know if this is wishful thinking or what people are actually paying for it. To think I've got the best part of £1000 (based on those prices) of Hibiki shoved in the garage is amusing to me.

Mind you they're also charging stupid prices for the Yamazaki 12

Those prices are in La La land. They would make Amazon prices blush.

Well, auction prices show what people are willing to pay for it. Which is £50-70 for the 12yo, £115-130 for the 17yo, £300 for the 21yo and £2000 for the 30yo.

So the shop is showing silly prices.

Have fancied trying this for a while and have found it in a Maltese supermarket for about £35.

Would have been rude not to at that price!

That is a fantastic price! Let us know what it is like, I have been meaning to try some Bowmore, it is the only mainstream Islay distillery I haven't got much experience with.

I know of a nearby Tesco that sold their last bottle of this at the weekend.. whistle

One for the collection maybe, but will decide when the current one is empty.

3 bottles in my local Tesco yesterday, £40 a piece, not sure whether to grab them... Whisky shop in town think they're getting some more in at £35 a bottle

Heads up.
Writers Tears is down from £28/bottle (already cheap), to £23/bottle at Marks and Spencers for a limited time.
Most other bottles have around £5 off as well.
