Looking for a bit of advice. I've been a bourbon drinker for years but I'm trying to expand my taste in scotch. I've only tried a few so far.

Jura Origin - I thought was ok
Glenmorangie 10 yo - I liked it apart from the quite aniseedy aftertaste.
Old Pulteney 12 yo - This has been my favourite so far.
Monkey's Shoulder - perfectly drinkable but didn't leave much of an impression.

Anybody got any recommendations? I've been keeping to younger ones as they seem to be a bit sweeter.

Without spending a lot of money, I'd recommend Ledaig 10 year old and BenRiach Curiositas, both very, very nice whiskies. smile

Still one of my favourites:
My absolute favourite. I have one in my stash that I've been reluctant to open in case I can't replace it (that's some weird logic...), but a quick google shows it's readily available on Amazon for £47.50. Doh. banghead
There was a 17yo one that was exclusive to someone else (can't recall) that was even better!

It was this...

I still have 2 bottles of the Whisky Exchange bottling stashed away at home. My Father (who doesn't like whisky) helped me through my first bottle in two days over Christmas a couple of years ago!

Piece of cake to get hold of no doubt!

My current cupboard contents, although nothing very expensive here. The Benriach Tawny Port is an odd one for me - I really liked it when I tasted it in the shop, but at home it seems to lack smoothness for me - the second dram is always better!

The Chivas was a present from the inlaws - not tried it yet, I might be be pleasantly surprised when I open it, who knows.

Singleton of Glen Ord was bought when we visited in June - a really good distillery tour there.

They also can't count. Three minutes is actually four.

Try the BenRiach 13 year old Virgin American Oak shown above... well worth the money & far too easy to drink

Does nyone know where to pick up the Bushmills 16 year old for the normal £50? Finished my last bottle I picked up from duty free.

Thanks in advance.

Both good recommendations. I would add the Glendronach 12yo, Glenmorangie nectar d'or or Highland Park 12 to the list. All very different in taste so you will be able to find something that suits your palate.

I have just ordered some Chichibu On The Way 2015 and a bottle of Ichiro's Malt MWR Mizunara Wood Reserve. Looking forward to trying some Japanese whisky again over Christmas.

Having had the original "On the Way" at the first PH tasting, I'm quite tempted.

That said, Spice Tree Extravaganza is calling me...
