I received an email from The Whisky Exchange and ordered some. Not a huge secret really spin

I took a bottle of Kavalan Podium away for the weekend as I was visiting some friends. I went in the space of a few hours and I cannot recommend it enough.

Yeah, but all the "good" stuff was gone in 60 seconds (or less).

Thought I had got the first of these yesterday, but sadly they cancelled my order, frown Sounded very nice. The second one probably will be released in around a month so can try (and most likely fail!) to get that. 13yo Highland Park single cask bottle from a first fill sherry European Hogshead. Second one is 14yo and an American Hogshead instead.

So today I ordered a basically unknown Bruichladdich instead - although not sure if I have got it or not! I only know it's from 2001, 57,2% and for Sweden. It sounds like it will effectively be one of their Valinchs. Hoping it's something decent! laugh

Oh. I didn't think it would sell out so quickly.

I popped into Makro yesterday and got their final clearance bottle of Bruichladdich Classic Laddie for the reduced price of £23.98. Fancied trying this one for a while, looking forward to opening it.

I ended up caving in and buying one anyway. smile

Having read about these I thought it rude to try one myself.
Grand opening tonight of my Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 55 tonight.. Not one for adding water myself, given its 60.9% I might try it both ways...thoughts?

Best value cask strength whisky available - IMO

Batches vary, but usually soft enough to drink without water.

Was going to have some for a night cap, but sod it I'll have some now.... Bloody lovely, might have taken over Old Pulteney as my current favourite...lets see.

Fantastic single malt.
It always amazes me how they sell this one for the price they do.
It's currently £35 in Waitrose (for example), worth twice that.

It's one of my favourites, and when I do tasting evenings, it always comes out as the favourite, despite going up against Octomore's, Glendronachs etc etc

Good choice.

Might have had three tonight, but it does take a drop of water well IMHO.

Couldn't resist a purchase in Waitrose today. Despite the fact I already have two (much earlier) unopened batches sat on the shelves.
Batch 56 - there has been better but this is a definite return to dram. Think I need to get another 105 - with that theme in mind.
What a selection I have open right now - Dalmore 12 - Laphroaig Triple - and a couple of others.

My housemates have a bottle of the Laphroaig Triple open at the mo, it's a truly great dram.
