Tonight's dram is Tamnavulin NAS an absolute bargain at £20 in Morrisons, it's got everything you'd expect for a Speyside single malt for not a lot of money.
Tesco have just reduced theirs from £32.00 to £22.00, so you've done really well at £20.00.I'm just having a taste of these two, I can recommend both, but the Glenglassaugh for £34.95 you can't go wrong.

I managed to go to the Stavanger whisky club's monthly meeting this week as I am here with work. The theme was 4 of Adelphi's Liddesdale (Bunnahabhain) 21yo's. These are sherry casks and we tried batch 4, 5, 6 and 9. The overall vote was that batch 4 was best.
After that I had these 3. The Arran was a Norway only release (Bourbon cask).
What did you make of the Lagavulin 12 ? I have a bottle of that release in my stash .After that I had these 3. The Arran was a Norway only release (Bourbon cask).
I have had bottles of other releases and they were huge citrus bombs.

Have you ever tried the 18? One of the finest, if not the finest whisky one can buy for under £100 IMHO. It is a good time of year to pick up bargains but I'm facing a dilemma: how many are too many bottles? At the rate my bottles get finished I think I've got a decades-worth of whisky now. Roughly 40 different, and a few duplicates of my favourites.
Do I continue to buy what I like and increase consumption to match?!!

Been offered a bottle of Dewar's 12.
I was surprised to see that it's a blend rather than a single malt.
Anyone here tried it?
Yes and I quite liked it, thought it was a bit like Johnnie Walker black label.I was surprised to see that it's a blend rather than a single malt.
Anyone here tried it?
My Sister-in-law works in a distillery and she and many of her colleagues who I've met insist that a good blend is 'better' than a single malt as the flavour of a single malt has been reached mostly by chance while a blend has been 'lovingly created' by a master blender. Her explanation is that you wouldn't go into a restaurant and demand single ingredients on your plate, you'd trust the chef to create. Her favourite is Johnnie Walker Blue Label (but she works for Diageo so she's biased).
