I ordered discounted Lagavulin 16, it hasn't been dispatched yet. How did you miss out?
Surprised, I ordered well after it had been posted on here and was out of stock, mine was delivered on Tuesday along with a Highland Park.

One of my memories of 2016 was eating some Marmite flavoured chocolate Easter Egg I was given (wasn't looking forward to it) with a drop of Lagavullin 16 I got on offer from Glasgow airport. An oddly complimentary match.

The fact that it's also Ron Swanson's tipple of choice adds to the enjoyment. Not that he'd eat Marmite flavoured chocolate.

I fell for a £10 clearance offer on this in Morrisons:

It is without question the worst drink I have ever tasted. My mates and I took great pleasure in throwing it on the fire. Avoid at all costs.
Have now gone for a bottle of this, on special at about £17:

Hasn't arrived yet but hoping for better luck this time round.

The Double Oak stuff is jolly nice for £17.

It's £40 and I think it's excellent
I opened mine tonight and agree.

It's very nice; reminiscent of an older Glenfarclas.

Bargain.
Agree, I bought 2 when they were in stock, ones evaporated already!
Popped in to Aldi today and they one bottle left, rude not to have another for a rainy day.
Finally found a review for it to... https://thewhiskyphiles.com/2016/11/17/glen-marnoc...
Andy from Malt Box on YouTube has a review from 2 weeks ago.

I have already drammed 1 bottle plus half of another, not managed to find anymore!
Cheers for that found a link for the video review.. https://youtu.be/VYu9FdKvMwc

I asked for the whole lot to be delivered to my work, which closes today until 03 January.

They didn't manage to do that (despite them saying it would be here by Tuesday). So back the whole lot goes for a refund. tts!

Christmas whisky...
The wife and I agreed that we wouldn't do presents as we're both of the nature that if we want something we'll go and get it. This didn't sit well with the youngest who is obsessed with frogs. I had to buy frog wine (easy thanks to a local Waitrose) and she had to buy frog whisky:

Dangerously easy to drink. Got one open at the moment.

Gave a bottle of Argbeg Dark Cove to my Dad for Christmas and cracked it open today. My word what a lovely dram! Not quite as smokey as other Ardbegs that I've tried, but ever so smooth and a tapestry of flavours to enjoy!

Received a bottle of Bunnahabhain from family in Scotland. It's nice and something I've not seen before.

I got a bottle of Jura superstition which I'd not tried before. Not too bad, but probably not one I'd buy again.

I'm with you on that, it's the high side of a middling whisky to me. Perfectly acceptable at the price but not something I'd seek out unless on offer. I did find it did improve a little with a bit of air time though.

I really liked that myself, I wasn't expecting too much but it's really nice, so much so I will seek out others from the distillery in the future.
