I'd appreciate suggestions for decent Steak\Burgers\Ribs restaurant not too far from Guildford (Surrey\London area), hopefully better quality than TGIs!

Thanks smile

Beat me to it, only been once, it was fantastic, the BIL goes quite often.

Onion ring stack is awesome.

The Big Easy, Covent Garden and also Kensington High Street.

Thanks guys, I'm going to book the big easy in Kensington. They offer Lobster there, so my Mum will be happy.

Since when has there been a Big Easy on Kensington High Street? The original is on the Kings Road in Chelsea and the second branch is in Covent Garden and there is now one in Canary Wharf. Kings Road is the one to go to

Must be the one on the King's Road.
You must have the Jumbo Shrimp starter!!!

Also, depending on which day you go, they have "all you can eat" offers. Check the menu online

+1 for big easy.

went there twice. one day for all you can eat jumbo shrimp, the next for all you can eat bbq. both occasions were great. food comes quick, staff are on the ball so they always checking to see if you want another basket of shrimp or tray of bbq.

We're local, Tonks, so often to be found at RM/ Oxshott Bear/ Plough(s) etc just have a wine tasting at Majestic on Friday, so thought we'd walk over the road.

No kids but hoping 8:30pm or later might be more adult friendly?! We can always hit somewhere else.

Fancy some American food as it has been almost two years since I left Houston so this thread got my juices flowing!

We were thinking of going this week but haven't got round to it. Haven't wandered up to Bella Luna, either, though we're getting mixed reviews for that. I'm in Mumbai, Mon through Fri, next week and then Mrs9 is on a hen that weekend, so it'll probably be a couple of weeks before we give either a go.

I'm concerned that The (new) Vic is a bit like the Bear in that it's right on the main road and it spoils the romance. Doesn't stop me going to The Bear but it does seem to make me comment every time.

To be fair, there aren't many good eating establishes walking distance from us so I am hoping that The Vic is good! Are you going any time soon, Tonks? They had a stall at the Village Fair to hand out menus etc but they seemed to be too busy to talk to us.

To be fair to them; they'd probably just seen me share my ice cream with the dog... Still, I heard The (old) Vic had some gangster connections but that may just be gossip. I'm a Bear man as I'm Stoke end and my buddy is LHead end, so it's in the middle-ish.

The one in Covent Garden is pretty good, nice portions and great food.

Sorry I did mean the one on Kings Road. Done Covent garden a few times but you can't beat the original on Kings Road for atmosphere.

Went to Bodeans when I was in London before Christmas, one in Soho. Was absolutely top notch, mate of mine went to one of the other Bodeans elsewhere in the smoke and he thought the same.

This, my go-to restaurant for a blow-out meal - love the place and so much better than covent garden/docklands

The new one at Canary Wharf is pretty special, particularly with the evening view of the sun setting over London off the deck. This comes from someone who lost count of the number of visits to the Kings Rd original. The only downside, for the gluttons among us, is since expanding from the Kings Rd the number of nights with 'pig out' specials is down to three (Mon-Wed).

Cov Gdn is decent enough, but it's just that tiny bit too big that it loses a lot of the original charm - service can be very hit and miss, and table booking for more than a few people is a bloody nightmare.
