So today we're going to the Big Easy in Kings Road to celebrate my Dad's 75 Birthday. To add a little fun, my wife is going to drive from Guildford with my Mum and my 2 kids, my Dad and I are going to catch the train. A mini Top Gear challenge smile It also means Dad and I get to have a few beers!

You should make it a proper challenge. all leave the house at the same time, wife in car and you have to walk or public transport to the station, wait for train etc.

Car should win easily.

I'd look to be parked up in 45 minutes on the Kings Road from Guildford.

Report back!

We're local, Tonks, so often to be found at RM/ Oxshott Bear/ Plough(s) etc just have a wine tasting at Majestic on Friday, so thought we'd walk over the road.

No kids but hoping 8:30pm or later might be more adult friendly?! We can always hit somewhere else.

Fancy some American food as it has been almost two years since I left Houston so this thread got my juices flowing!
Another local here and have yet to try the 2 new ones. We often end up at the Runner (steak good and not expensive as is lobster frites), or Black Swan and The Old Plough. The Bear is variable but walkable so can forgive it most sins.

Popped in The Vic last night to see what it was all about... seemed really hot and was 3 deep to the bar...

We continued down the road to the Bear as usual and had a great burger and a few pints. Unusually quiet in there now, I guess because everyone is at The Vic?!

My Wife dropped my Dad and I at Guildford main, then collected my Mum and drop to the restaurant. She arrived 20 minutes before me and Dad. Car wins smile The meal was good too. I like the draught larger (Big Easy Brew).
