Apologies spydaman, I purchased the grill that the stone sits on for £20, not the pizzaring itself. I did get lucky with that however as someone was selling one unused on eBay for around £50.

Must admit however, having used it numerous times I'd say it's worth the £100

Drying out our bread oven for its first use in about 70 years this Sunday.

Will only be doing jacket spuds and warming stuff up this time.
So, how are you getting on with the ancient oven fella?

I have a pizza party and really like it.
I would recommend getting the biscotto floor too.
I also have unni 2, but wouldn't recommend it

I'm also interesting in knowing why you wouldn't recommend the Uuni2. I've used my 2s a few times now and whilst I still haven't quite mastered it yet I think it's good for the money. I still plan on buying a proper oven in the next year or so.
Similar for me I've used it a few times now including for a small party, and it performed fine from my perspective. Clearly I'd prefer a proper big woodfired one.....

Hi LaurasOtherHalf
Have you got a link to the £20 pizza ring as I can only find them at £100+
Same as You - I fancy one for £20 odd for the rare occasions but I use my BBQ for far more things than a Pizza....
No worries. I thought it was too good to be true.

Place in Glasgow called Paesano. I know its not really what this thread is about but best pizza I've ever had. Prices from 5 to 8 quid so really great value, place was mobbed on a Wednesday lunch time.

Of course they're a pleasure to deal with, you're spending £769 to cook pizzas!

Planning to fire the pizza oven up again this weekend, and have a question.

First time I tried to use the oven to slow cook some lamb and a pulled pork shoulder, it worked fantastically, but the 2 big thick ceramic dishes I used both smashed in the oven for some reason.

What do you all use in the ovens? I’m thinking a thick metal cast iron dish like a le creuset would be best, but wanted to check first as they are NOT cheap and wouldn’t want to ruin it!

Thanks

never know about some of those finishes, I would expect it to be fine. Might want to look at Lodge pans too.

Always check the oven temp before you put dishes in. Would recommend Le Creuset style pots or a plain old metal pan. If the oven is too hot then even the handle of the Le Creuset will break. If it's a slow cook you're after then close the oven door, let the heat get down to 150 ish, stick the pot in and leave the door closed till morning. Take it out and Robert et ton oncle.

However long you want to cook it make sure its cool enough.

Edited to correct the worst type of grammatical error, for which I should be ashamed!

Cooked the Christmas Ham in the pizza oven and turned out superb!

Just out of interest which thermometer do you all use? The one I had went black and I could read the screen anymore - even by cleaning the glass crazed!

Just found this thread. Has anyone received their Roccbox yet? I haven't and I ordered it last April I think!
But it does get good reviews over on the pizza forum and generally its liked more then the uuni so hopefully worth waiting for. I think mine should be here in about a months time.

Tried a new pizza place last week and it's made me want to take the Uuni out of storage and fire it up. My main problem with the Uuni is how the board ends up with pellets when you refill the hopper.

Do it, its bloody awesome!

For the life of my I don't see why people are putting up with all the Roccbox hassle. It looks a bit better and uses gas I guess, but Uuni is so awesome and available now, and cheaper. Just having used mine a couple of times 3-4 other friends have gone home and ordered one immediately
